A plain hotdog with mustard can be a fine thing.  The red sauce, never ever.

I like chopped onions and sauerkraut and maybe jalapenoes at times.

A hot dog with slaw, onions, mustard, and hot sauce is a hell of a thing.

I loathe pickles and pickle relish, those will never visit a hot dog of mine (or any other food item).

Mustard, for sure.  And no ketchup, obviously.

I like mine the way the come at G&J.

Mustard, relish, onion, sport peppers. They come topped with fries, which are phenomenal.

You're missing out. Pickles are delicious.

I've never understood the allure of putting fries on a sandwich like those weirdoes in Pittsburgh or topping something like a hot dog with fries. I've never been in a situation where it actually improved the sandwich.

Had some delicious carne asada fries at the brewery on Saturday, though. Damn fine plate of food.

The tile guys are here now, I went to get a Willy Philly and they were out of tortillos, and crowded.  So I got a bowl, tasty.

We have a plumber coming later and already had an electrician here.

Pickle relish is okay on it's own. There's a burger place in Seattle that uses it on a burger and it's not too bad. But it's NOT sweet relish, which is the trash that takes up space in the condiment bar.

Hot dogs and brats are great with brown mustard and raw onions.

I tried one that had gummy bears as part of the filling. Hard pass.

I think the fries over the dog are more about wrapping the fries w the dog in one package than it is fries 'on' the dog.. . Like the weirdos in Pittsburgh.

At least that's how I've interpreted, received and consumed the Chicago style dogs in my days in either No Ill or in SE Wisconsin.
