In the news:

The Iran-Israel cease fire seems to be  holding.

I presume the "protests" in LA have stopped, or calmed down some.

Trump's "OBBB" has passed one Senate vote and might pass in a few days with a lot of things stripped out of it.

The US stock market is at record highs.  Trump continues to throw tariffs around, hither and yon.  This is remarkable to me, that investors have taken the dip and returned in droves, so far.

The "heat dome" in the eastern US has abated, some.  I blame somebody.
May as well blame Trump. I'm sure it's his fault for something, somewhere, anywhere, everywhere.

I figure if blaming someone or something makes folks feel better, fine with me, so long as they don't block traffic or destroy stuff.

It is sort of interesting, but hardly new, how folks like to find someone or something to blame for whatever, it could be the head coach, the President, some SCOTUS Justice or six, some Senator, life itself and how unfair it is, billionaires of course, George Soros, climate change, student debt, the egg lobby,  ....  rarely do humans take blame on themselves for a thing.  Obviously, much of what happens is out of one's control, whether one finds someone to blame for whatever is thus rather pointless really.

Most of it seems like wasted effort, to me.

It's not a question of whether the people in the Southern portions want out. They most certainly do, and they are tired of Chicago running the show.

That's how I did it. Illinois has lost a lot of population. It's tougher to leave if your income depends on your land, however.

Folks have been figuring out how to move around this country for hundreds of years. I have faith these wise souls can if they really want to. Or they don’t have to, and it’ll probably be fine.
