One thing about Musk/Space X that didn't get brought up is that they are actually saving the government billions of dollars.  Before Space X, NASA was paying 200-300 million for every single launch.  Space shuttle cost anywhere from 500 million to over 1 billion per launch (hard to nail down a number but it wasn't cheap).  Space X is launching more for NASA than all the other companies combined and for less money.  The government is the one asking for services.  Boeing got $4 billion to launch astronauts to the space station and hasn't had a successful mission yet.  SX has launched multiple flights to the ISS for less than half of what Boeing got.

Whatever you think of Musk and his businesses, they deliver.

Sorry about your tiny weenie.  LOL

Who made $100 billion in profit over this?  Pfizer's stock price is lower than it was preCOVID and their annual revenue is around $63 billion, not profit.  Moderna did relatively well initially, but their stock price also dropped, and their net SALES are a bit over $3 billion, with negative profits.

Nobody earned anything like the number you cite.
Reading comprehension is your friend. As is Google. Never once said any one company made this. It was combined profits from a handful- maybe 4-5 druggy cartels.

Pfizer, Moderna, BioNTech, and maybe it was 1 or 2 other of the druggy majors made just shy of $100 billion in PROFITS from their bullshit COVID drugs in 2021 & 2022. It was $90 something billion. In PROFIT. Combined.

Well, I'll just say that I like what Musk/Doge/Trump has been doing for the last month, even if I personally dislike some of the methods and actions that they do while doing it.

Musk seems to fit the description of "greatest human being of all time" and also "greatest slezeball of all time" at the same time.

I have brought this up many many times in this thread.

SpaceX is fucking DESTROYING the competition. They are so far ahead of Boeing & Lockheed's JV ULA and Bezos' BlueOrigin- it's honestly a joke. They are lapping the field. And they have saved the federal government literally billions of dollars. And would be saving them even more if the federal government would stop awarding contracts to inferior companies which charge them more money.

And I'll also point out that to date, I'm the only one who ever really calls out MDot for his unhinged bigoted and nonsensical tirades when he starts doing that shit.

I've done it, it just doesn't do any good.

I agree with a lot of what he says, sometimes I just don't like how he says it.  And sometimes it makes no sense at all or is flat wrong.  In that way, he's kind of the Donald Trump of our board.  Or does that violate the no name-calling rule? :)

people in hollywood & in government are far greater sleaze-balls than Elon Musk ever could dream of being in a 1,000 lifetimes.

Elon Musk is definitely a fucking weirdo- but that does not make him "the greatest sleaze-ball of all-time". The man is clearly brilliant and he solves really hard problems and gets results. Big results. To have someone on the inside with that kind of brain power trying to help solve what is a seemingly impossible problem to solve- probably is not a bad thing.

And he's not trying to win a morality award, he's trying to help fix a broken out of control government. Most of the people running that government are far more immoral than someone like Elon Musk....

How do you mean this?

I think a number of people have said stuff about that, and then it just produces more unhinged, slur-laden rants. And at a point, a lot of people would rather a fewer of those, so some just try to skip those posts and not provide oxygen.

if you’d like a fellow call out, his posts are unpleasant to read and make this worse place to experience. It would be great if he talks like a normal person with all his faculties in line.

buddy I am honored to even be compared in the same sentence as Donald Trump. the man has destroyed the establishment wing of both parties- which I have absolutely detested forever- and was a lightning rod for the largest political realignment and shifting of the poles in the US in at least almost the last 100 years.

I understand what you're saying, but Elon's "sleeze" seems to be way out in the limelight, and it's totally his own doing with his unhinged X posts, excess baby-mama drama, and other things.

the man is the greatest example in modern times of having FUCK YOU money. I actually quite enjoy him calling people peasants and retards on twitter. those people are beneath him- the great lie is that everyone is created equal- we are not- and he has every right to remind them of that on the platform that he spent $45 billion to buy.

I honestly really am just enjoying the show. It's great entertainment. And it's free.

100%. The sad fact is that neither side the R's or D's- have done fuck all in Congress to curtail spending and to root out waste, fraud, and abuse. Congress has abdicated it's power and authority for decades and has just handed more and more of it's own powers to executive branch over the years. just look at the war machine.....executive was never intended to have these kind of powers as it relates to war. Constitution is clear as day- Congress has sole power to declare war- there can be no war without Congress making a declaration of war- yet we fight 'em constantly with no such declaration. Congress are by and large sad sack of useless shits.

I believe the War Powers Resolution (or something like that....whatever it's called) allows the president to initiate military action for like 48 hours before he has to explain himself to Congress, who can then call the dogs off.

1)  you'll want to check that.  I'm relying on some Civics lessons from a lot of years ago and I could be totally wrong
2)  somebody with clearer legal understanding would still need to check that, even if I'm right
3)  if correct, it would seem that only Congress can declare war, but that the president can basically start a war without declaring.  At which point, I guess, Congress' hand is either forced, or they tell him him screw you, stop doing what you're doing.

lolz #3....Congress hasn't seen a war they didn't love in my adult life.  Probably all own shares of Lockheed Martin.

Honestly, just because you can, doesn't mean you should.  I would cringe if the CEO of my company (who's openly gay) behaved the way that Elon has acted over the last several years.  I'm not sure why I posted that he was openly gay, maybe to illustrate the point that we can have differences in lifestyles etc without being such an asshole about it.
