Here's where I fall on all this. I think like 90% of us on this board all agree that one of the biggest problem, if not the biggest problem America faces is our out of control debt and deficit. We've had long threads on the subject, endless debates, many solutions, suggestions, and remedy's. In all the political debates, whether it's president, congress, or senate, they spend countless hours debating LBGTQ+XYZTUVLMOP, banning library books, what to name military forts that have been around for 100 years, whether to give reparations to people whose ancestors were wronged 150 years ago, whether we need to keep DST, and endless other bullshit. Sometimes they talk about fixing healthcare or homelessness.
But they almost NEVER discuss what to do about the deficit, and almost always blame the other party. Democrats cry and holler when Republicans are in charge and adding to the debt, then turn around and do almost the exact same thing when they're running the show.
Nobody, to my knowledge truly gives a flyin' fuck about what I consider to be the biggest and most solvable problem we have. I'm not even sure Trump really discussed it much when he was running, it seemed more like Elon has been the one banging the drum. I honestly think that Trump doesn't even GAF about the debt and deficit, but since Elon helped get him elected he's pretty much obliging him with this DOGE effort, and then it also helps solve a problem that Trump has with some of the programs funding a lot of what he's trying to fix with immigration and the like.
