there cant be too much debate

Biden shut down production on Federal land and has stopped issuing exploration drilling permits

the price of oil and gasoline has increased accordingly

no debate required
From June of 2014 to Jan of 2015, Oil prices fell by half. Was this because the president greatly expanded oil production? No.

This is silly.

Will be interested to see how much of this is real, how much is stunt. Smells like a stunt, but I suppose we'll see.
I think the states main case centers around only congress is supposed to pass laws involving money
and Biden is doing an end run by establishing what rates various agencies will use as a basis to charge states

but yes it should be interesting
I mean if he can do that whats to stop him from coming out with new income tax rates

Badge, I'm not gonna quote that article that came in formatted badly, but if we're gonna get mad at the mean ole media, let's not be quoting sketchy blogs out here fluffing people by way of summarizing WSJ opinion pieces. Like, we can just talk about the original opinion piece.

no its because he removed various restrictions on exploration and well development

some of this included fracking as well and increased the supply domestically

Ahhh, looks closer. They're suing him for attaching numerical estimates that are supposed to guide policy. They worry it will be used to justify something involving money. That seems ... stunt-ish, but I'll wait for someone non-crazy with a legal background to weigh in more.

not sure if Obama did anything like that but if he did it was not even close to the steps Trump took

I seem to remember OPEC increasing production to derive prices down to run some of the oil shell guys out of business

maybe thats also part of it

Correct. And yet, oil prices plummeted on his watch.

And the reason is ... oil prices are very lightly impacted by the choices a president make and they are certianly not highly reactive as compared to big things like say a massive economic bounce back (which likewise is mostly not to a president's credit)

I doubt I'd use papyrus in all-caps for being average.
The writer used whatever font he chose. He was reporting on how Florida performed versus the lockdown states.

Florida performed fantastic, without killing its businesses, destroying young people, and it was done with a far older population than California.

Florida also concentrated on protecting its nursing homes, rather than murder the residents.

It was all done without touching the rainy day fund.

This is not average. This is A+.

Well to be fair it was at an average of 3.73 here in Ohio. And for some reason I remember discussing this with Gatorama at the time as he thought it might go over 4.I forgot what he did but he was much more on top of economical  complexities than I.Not sure how much more the Barons could squeeze out economy and it did fall to half for a whole 2 weeks(1.89) but wasn't consitently that. Then it climbed back to between 2.50-3.00 for 9 months. That's where we are here in Ohio right now and that was almost 7yrs ago.

The US produces 19% of the global oil supply, ten percent of that comes from Federal land.

It will be a small factor in 2-3 years.  Exploration will shift to places like Texas.  Wyoming et al. Will suffer.  This will do zip for climate change.

The Canadian oil will also get refined.  It will be shipped by rail, more costly and dangerous than by pipeline.  Optics, not substance.
