I really have no idea why you're focusing on me here.

Do you not find the attempted semantic ?softening? tactic despicable?  As if 'child erotica' is any better than 'child porn'.......it's fucked in the head.
Sounds like they have all the evidence they need and sounds like Kitna was forthcoming, etc....the lawyer is tasked with 1-avoiding trial, 2-getting a not-guilty verdict, and 3- getting the lightest sentence possible.
.
Sorry if I can't help but notice when the lawyer chooses a bizarre, disgusting, ineffective route.
.
Oh, judge me for this next one, too:  I hate that Kitna has money (son of NFL QB) and absolutely will be punished less than one of his poorer teammates if they were in the exact same situation.

I'm so sorry for not fixating on what you think I should.  I'm guilty of that, I guess.
I suppose I'm poking at this because is shows a rather dim view of a fundamental right that should probably be celebrated and a lack of inquisitiveness about things.

The criminal justice system has many, many issues. But dwelling on "everyone deserves a vigorous defense" seems a strange one. And yes, sometimes that defense being vigorous means it will upset a particularly pearl-clutch-y person. Like, bad things happen all the time in that world. Impactful bad things. So I react in a way when people look at it and say "why is that person without a good defense acting so UNSEEMLY?!?!?"

And then there's the lack of inquisitiveness. There's no guess as to why a person might use semantic softening. Very possibly, a state has very stringent child "porn" laws because it's great politics to pass them. But perhaps, another term is another category, with less draconian terms. And that's the lawyer's job (and the government's job to argue against). And yes, the lawyer's job is to do what's best for the client, and in this case, make the government most thoroughly prove the case.

(The money part is true! But if one's offense at the CJ system is mostly limited to, 1. Money makes it unfair, 2. Look how unseemly and bad defense lawyers are, it just speaks to not being very curious about what one is actually complaining about)

My lack of inquisitiveness with your opinion is immense.
My "dim view" is sharable BECAUSE all of the fundamental right business is a given.  You don't seem to get that.

I'm not particularly a fan of lawyers, but to claim they are ALL despicable strikes me as over generalizing, especially given the nature of their jobs as criminal defendants.
Where did I type "all"?

Lawyers are despicable.
Seems rather all encompassing to me.

Pentagon debuts its new stealth bomber, the B-21 Raider | The Hill
Not impressed.

I’ll be impressed by the pentagon for the first time ever when they pass an audit. So yeah, that’d be never.

There is nothing as yet with which to be impressed or depressed other than the probable price tag of a billion each, give or take.
