Ask most college football fans, and the games and college football season probably aren’t long enough. It would seem the NCAA disagrees, citing the need to cut down on the length of games. The average FBS game is now playing for 3 hours and 22 minutes.

Considering the average length of an MLB game is a little over 3 hours, the average FBS game length doesn’t seem unreasonable. But, with the average time increasing by 4 minutes over the past 5 years, the NCAA wants to prevent games from becoming any longer.

According to a report by The Athletic’s Seth Emerson, NCAA officials have found the cause of college football games that are getting longer and longer, year after year. According to officials, an increase in passing plays is the main culprit in lengthier games.

In order to keep FBS more concise, the NCAA has proposed treating incomplete passes like plays where the ball runs out of bounds — the clock would stop only until the ball is set to be hiked again. The clock would run except for in the last 2 minutes of the first half and the final 5 minutes of regulation.

We’ll see if the NCAA’s plan help the game run more smoothly, or just cut short the season.

Not commercials. It feels like commercials are a factor.

I had friends at a game this weekend that had 22 incomplete passes. It went 3 1/2 hours.

Replays account for the time lengthening I think.  They work commercials in as before.

Better hope Ian is a right-handed pull hitter, because he keeps lurching to the right side of the guidance envelope.

B-52 Completes Wind Tunnel Testing Of New Engine Nacelles - The Aviationist

the B-52 Commercial Engine Replacement Program was initiated in 2018, with GE Aviation, Pratt & Whitney and Rolls-Royce competing for the contract. The winning offer from Rolls-Royce is the military version of the BR725 engine used by the Gulfstream G650 business jet and already powering both the C-37 and E-11 BACN in service with the U.S. Air Force.

The Air Force plans to finalize integration activities and deliver the first lot of B-52 modified aircraft in the 2026-2027 timeframe, with initial operational capability expected in 2030. The new engines are expected to remain on the B-52 through at least 2050, increase fuel efficiency, increase range, reduce emissions in unburned hydrocarbons, and significantly reduce maintenance costs.

A lot of things "should" happen, but won't obviously.  Meta is a profitable enterprise, they won't be shut down.  I personally don't have a problem with FB.

I've seen a lot of effort applied to "anti-vaccine" disinformation here and there and wonder if it's Russian inspired or generated.

I like Facebook.  Super-quick and easy way to update my family on what's going on with the kids.

It's very easy for me to ignore all the extra bulljive.

In 2050 the B52 will be 98 years old.  I guess we got our money's worth.
