I ended up getting a pair of prescription Oakley single-vision sunglasses for use on the course. It's rough because trying to input my score on an app is harder because I don't have the progressives, but at least I can putt! On cloudy days, I use an older prescription non-tinted pair of glasses--the prescription isn't perfectly accurate for me now but it's close enough for what I need.

I think I’m losing sight of the ball as I start my swing.  Bear in mind in this league a “good” pitcher is throwing maybe 55 mph.  Now, maybe I’m just pulling off, that is very possible, and maybe I do that because I can’t follow the ball all the way.  Now, at say four feet, I’m already into my swing, so my brain has already figured trajectory, so maybe it’s not an issue.  I catch the ball ok.  Usually.

I had a clean double down the line the week before, so I’m not totally out of it.  I had another hit Saturday and almost a second.

I keep reading about what is likely to happen during the World Cup here, traffic issues among other things.  I don't really get it.  They have games here at the stadium fairly often, nobody panicks.  Granted, there are 8 games which is more than normal, and visitors coming in from overseas (though hoteliers are saying fewer than expected).

So why all the commotion about it?  My wife suggested we leave town for a bit, I told I didn't expect any notable impact where we live, maybe more buses around.  I guess we'll see.

I was here for the Olympics, drove right through downtown, MUCH less traffic than normal.

Sounds like Milan during the Winter Olympics last winter. There was only 1 or 2 events a night going on at the two arenas, which were easily dispersed by the subway.  It was very clear that the Olympics were only the 3rd or 4th most important thing happening there in February.

Obviously the Olympics were a Big Deal in Atlanta in 1996.  The subway was packed.  But traffic was lighter than usual because a lot of folks didn't go to work.

My guess is the WC will have some impact but not as much as some make it out to be.

TIL that the lead singer of the band Wheatus--of Teenage Dirtbag fame--is a dude. Based on the voice, I always thought it was a girl.

Song kinda hits different my way lol...

Northern Wisc., northern, Minnesota, and northern Michigan are all beautiful places to spend the summer if you like the outdoors and lakes and fishing, etc.

I go to Michigan because I know so many people here having been here my whole life, but have been to Northern Minnesota and Northern Wisconsin and thought both spectacular

I've been to the boundary waters (Lake Kabetogama) in Northern Minnesoota few times, I assume Wisconsin and Michigan are similar

Wisconsin has the best Supper Clubs.

Didn't know what a Supper Club was and had to look it up.  Sounds awful.

In contrast, I started a club with @betarhoalphadelta  for introverts who increasingly want to be around people less and less.  I didn't feel like talking to him to make him aware, so he doesn't know about it.  We haven't had any meetings.  It's going great.

Count me in as well.

And when I say count me in, I of course mean, count me out.
