Nobody had that much offense back then of course.???

He may have had 300 in a 75-0 win

They played fewer games, too.  6 yards per carry is great in any era.  That's what Trippi averaged for his career.
.
Sinkwich's Heisman season rushing:
186 car
828 yds
4.5 ypc
17 TDs
.
Tebow's Heisman season rushing:
210 car
895 yds
4.3 ypc
23 TDs

If people don't want to do this whole thing, it'd be an interestingly-enough question to ask:  you have one player from college football history to start a team...who do you take?
The stud RB?  Dominant offensive lineman?  Shut-down CB?

I'd take Trippi, obviously, a multittalented player who can legit fill several roles.

But that means he would be playing against players of his era, today he would be pretty lame.  And he's over 90 to boot.

agreed

Jake "the snake" Plummer or for us old school guys, Kenny "the snake" stabler

S.D."Snake" Plissken need not apply as he was fictional

I didn't get into CFB until my sophomore year of college (1997), and since then although I had a couple years I could follow the national scene, generally barely get a chance to pay attention to anything even in the B1G outside of Purdue as of late.

So I don't think I have the historical perspective to participate.

ok.
It'd just be famous guys.  If we really wanted to get crazy, we could draft player's specific seasons.  It'd be squirrelly because 96 Dayne could be on one team and 99 Dayne on another, something like that.
.
That would require some deep-diving.
