It's a fun time of year, I've been a big fan of the NCAA post-season baseball tournament since the 80s.  Back when I was in college, only 48 teams made it to the baseball tourney and it was organized into eight regionals of 6 teams each, with a true double elimination tournament to decide the winner.  It was awesome seeing all of the different schools and their fans roll in for what amounted to a VERY long weekend.

Softball's fun too, especially when your school's team is pretty good.

I think you were the one who explained to me how that worked and I thought it sounded insane. Which it still does, but in kind of fun way.

the college baseball postseason also gives rise to my favorite archetype of player, which is a reliever or long reliever who is just a pretty nice player and then somehow throws two complete games in the postseason, each at a moment when his team is out of arms.

I would guess at times a freshman pitcher gets it going late in the year and shines.

Will Beorgia Tech host a super?  Maybe I could get a ticket?

I assumed they had won their regional, but they are do or die against Oklahoma now.  7-3 lead in 7th.

And with that, Texas takes two in a row to eliminate UTenn and head to the WCWS finals.

Opponent will be either Alabama or Texas Tech, depending on the outcome of tonight's game(s).

Florida is getting pounded.  By Troy.  Again.
