What if College Football games were actually battles for land? This map answers this question. The original map is my closest FBS team to every county, but if a team is beaten their land is taken by the team that beat them. Teams will keep their land until beaten by another team and then all land will be passed to the new winner. For example Oregon State lost to Colorado State in week 0. Colorado State then lost to Colorado in week 1. Therefore Colorado owns Colorado State's land and Oregon State's land. FCS were are not originally included, but can win their way on to the map like Howard, James Madison, Liberty, and Tennessee State did this week.

Yeah, he simply did it by giving each school the county it is closest to.
It would be a fun, but more time consuming process to tier the schools out and then give bumps based on tier differences.
Like if Texas was Tier 1 and Texas Tech is Tier 4 (or whatever), then a 3 tier difference means Texas' "territory" bumps 3 more counties wide in radius out into Texas Tech's territory.

Would definitely love it if you post this after each week...

It's going to be quite wonky though... I.e. Purdue's original land will be held by whatever team beats Louisville, but due to the lack of OOC scheduling, it'll be almost impossible for a B1G team to reclaim that land right in the state of IN. Likewise Utah State's original land will most likely be held by the B1G all year, unless BYU beats Wisconsin. Heck, Wisconsin (and then someone else in the B1G if Wisconsin loses a conference game) could rack up all of Utah State, Utah, and BYU's original territory assuming BYU beats Utah this week and Wisconsin beats BYU. 

Either way, it'll be fun to watch.
