Kind of funny how it works.  Much better off beating a bad team, that happened to win its last game, while giving a team their second straight loss, no matter how good they are, gives you nothing.

Chance to earn some territory this week though

OSU is favored to win a big chunk of geography this week.
I got banned from Reddit r/cfb for suggesting that OSU could get more territory in a couple of weeks against PSU.
Guess that is a pretty unpopular opinion over there. :sign0024:

I’m a semi regular at r/cfb and I’ve yet to see someone banned over a minor offense as you make it seem. Peculiar story.
I thought I settled my debts that night on the ride home
But I have still got hell to pay

Whoever wins the OSU/Maryland game this week is largely responsible for protecting us from Canada.

Looks like Penn State doesn't stand to gain any territory for the next couple weeks, with Northwestern and a bye week, until we play Michigan and OSU.

bama's remaining opps:

arky - no land
tenn - no land and plays usc, who has no land
lsu - no land and plays au (no land) and om (no land and no chance before game for land)
miss st - no land and play byu (no land) and uk (no land, no chance) and aTm (no land, no chance) and umass (who had a game with usf with land cancelled, no chance on others)
mercer - (no land, no chance, didn't look up so not 100%, but 99.9%)
au - no land and play lsu (no land, no chance), arky (no land, chance for bama's land, no other), aTm (no land, no chance), uga (has land,  no more chances), and ulm (no land, no chance)

so for remainder of season, best bama can do is win the uga land if au wins it first. otherwise have to wait until seccg for whoever and hope they have some.

on plus side, if arky somehow takes bama's land this week, we can get it back beating au if they take from arky and hold it.

If OSU, MSU or PSU run the table, or if OSU does but loses in the final to Michigan, and Wisconsin holds serve, a big chunk of land will go to the Big Ten winner

Penn State cannot pick up any additional territory for a few weeks, against OSU then MSU.  Those are probably the only significant opportunities until the CCG.

somehow i missed that lsu has land, so we could get a decent chunk of land from lsu if they make it that far.

Winner of Ohio State/Penn State is going to have a big chunk of the Canadian border.
