Wake up groggy this morning and Mrs. DeT, who gets up a while before me and usually looks at some headlines, tells me Herbstreit is leaving college football.  I thought, wow, that'll be kinda sad, but I guess chalk it up to one more step in my ever-declining interest.

So I get to work and check here.....nobody has said anything about it.  Hmm, that's strange.  I google some headlines, punch up a SI article....

....He'll no longer be a part of the EA Sports College Football video game, starting with the '27 edition.  Nothing about him leaving ESPN or cfb broadcasting.

That silly Longhorn.....I can't wait to get home and give her a hard time about this.  I hope she reads and comprehends her patients charts better than she read whatever it is she read.

Actually, I couldn't wait, so I texted her the real story.  She replied "That's dumb and didn't deserve a headline."

Ha!

She's right though.  Click-bait and she fell for it.  I expect better from fine UT folk such as your bride.

I wouldn't miss Herby much and won't when he's gone

I like him pretty well.  I used to think he was overly hard on Ohio State in an effort not to appear as a homer, but I think he's leveled out on that over the years.

Speaking of old stuff...I heard that if you ask anybody under 20 years of age about the save icon common in programs (apps?) like MS Word and Excel, they don't know it's supposed to be a floppy disk.  Because floppies haven't been used regularly since at least the 90's....30+ years ago.  They know what it looks like, but don't comprehend that it's a floppy.  To them, it's just the save icon.

The joke is that if you show them one, they'll say...

"Wow, somebody 3D-printed a save icon?!"
