is this just at any point in season? final poll? can't be continuous, right?

depending on that answer, i think oregon is most surprising.

It is at any point in the season and the reason that Ohio State's streak doesn't go back further is that the AP Poll was limited to just 10 teams from 1961-1967. Ohio State received votes in the first few polls of 1967 and finished the year 6-3 which likely would have put them in the top-20.

Number of teams in AP Poll:
  • 20 from 1936-1960
  • 10 from 1961-1967
  • 20 from 1968-1988
  • 25 from 1989-present

Yes.

For that reason, ND is surprising to me. Always overrated.

That means some voters put LSU in the Top 25 in 2020 and 2021.

ESPN's way too early 2023 All-American teams...

Michigan has two guys on their lists, RG Zak Zinter and RB Blake Corum. Will Johnson should be on there imo. Think he's the 2nd best player on Michigan's team in '23 behind.....Donovan Edwards. Blake is a great player, glad he came back- but Donovan Edwards is better than him.

Will & Dononvan were a pair of 5*'s. Goes back to my theory on the STARZ....RB & CB are probably most accurately ranked positions because they are largely dependent on: athleticism - which is easy for anyone to see with their eye balls.

B1G has 3 other players on this list, Ohio State WR Marvin Harrison Jr (DUH), Penn State OT Olu Fashanu, and Illinois DT Jer'Zhan Newton.

UCF has more wins than FSU, Miami, or UF in the last decade. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. Are any of Florida's "Big Three" dead forever? I definitely think Florida will be back at some point, for sure. Flagship state school, biggest alumni base, best stadium/fan base of the bunch, and they are in the SEC $$$$. Miami might actually be legit dead and FSU will probably be able to comeback to life a bit if they get say....Deion Sanders....but other than that....yeah I think there day in the sun has come and gone as well....this is pretty....bad....

Since it's obviously "at any point in the season" then none of them are all that surprising.  If anything, I might be surprised there aren't MORE teams with 12+ seasons where they were rated in the top 25 "at any point in the season."

Nice. Just grabbed some tri tip for Sunday.

Tonight will be burgers w/ bacon and guac, and we're frying up our own french fries for it.

State of Mississippi surprises me.  I'd have to really dig into their records to know for sure, but off the top of my head I'd expect Ole Miss to outpace Clanga in a random time period.  Dan Mullen era really helps them out here, probably.  The Pirate continued a good baseline, I guess.  Just odd to see Ole Miss fall behind.

University of Houston also jumps out at me, though less surprising.  Has as much to do with UH being on a good run for its competition level as it does the major programs' struggles.  Still, for as little as I pay attention to Houston over the years it raises my eyebrows to see them so consistently good.  And that's with a pretty bad 2019 and 2020 dragging them down.

The more I think about it, the more I can't wrap my head around the fact that Texas can't get itself out of its funk.  There's just no good reason for the Longhorns not to be dominant.
