State of Mississippi surprises me.  I'd have to really dig into their records to know for sure, but off the top of my head I'd expect Ole Miss to outpace Clanga in a random time period.  Dan Mullen era really helps them out here, probably.  The Pirate continued a good baseline, I guess.  Just odd to see Ole Miss fall behind.

University of Houston also jumps out at me, though less surprising.  Has as much to do with UH being on a good run for its competition level as it does the major programs' struggles.  Still, for as little as I pay attention to Houston over the years it raises my eyebrows to see them so consistently good.  And that's with a pretty bad 2019 and 2020 dragging them down.

The more I think about it, the more I can't wrap my head around the fact that Texas can't get itself out of its funk.  There's just no good reason for the Longhorns not to be dominant.
Multiple bad coaching hires in a row.

Of course it's easy to call them bad hires after the fact.  Both Herman and Strong seemed to do well at lower-level programs and were on the short list for several other schools at the same time.  Sarkisian on the other hand was a reach and I don't think much of the hire, most other people I've spoken with didn't either.  Unfortunately I expect we'll reset again in a couple of years.  Maybe we'll actually land a good one then.  Hope springs eternal.

UCF has more wins than FSU, Miami, or UF in the last decade. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. Are any of Florida's "Big Three" dead forever? I definitely think Florida will be back at some point, for sure. Flagship state school, biggest alumni base, best stadium/fan base of the bunch, and they are in the SEC $$$$. Miami might actually be legit dead and FSU will probably be able to comeback to life a bit if they get say....Deion Sanders....but other than that....yeah I think there day in the sun has come and gone as well....this is pretty....bad....

Well one team gets to play Memphis and FAU and Troy every week and the others don't.  Another stupid thing to garner clicks and eyeballs.

They included FCS teams for states that don't have FBS teams, but I don't think that the FCS teams were included in the states that do, or else I'd assume one of those states would have an FCS team with the most wins. Like James Madison over Virginia Tech, for example.

For Vermont they had to go all the way down to D3, because that's all they have.

Tennessee gave Josh Huepel a fat new contract. He's averaging $9 million a year now, up $4 million per year from what he was making.

Can see Jeem's point about not being happy with the pay cut or getting a new deal- especially after the last two rebound seasons and a great shot he'll have at 3 B1G 'chips in a row, when other coaches who have done a lot less are making a lot more.

Jeem better get at least $10 mil a year base on his new deal- but that new deal better come with a fat buyout so we ain't doing this NFL bullsh*t every gd off-season.

that's four 1st rd NFL WR's and a QB that's going to be a top 5 pick in the upcoming NFL draft. Crazy.

I assume Ohio State is the team outside the circle?

If they went back another year they'd only have to expand the circle a little bit to include Austin, TX.

yep. says right on the graphic, Ohio State. Crazy thing about that is OSU was even better in 2015 and they screwed the pooch vs Sparty or else they prolly go back to back imo. Feel like Urbs always had slip ups vs teams he should murder- but in the big money big games- he was about as good as it gets. Kinda the opposite of Ryan Day.

If URBZ went with the flow like Satan he could have collared at least one more. Gatorama (RIP) warned me he was stubborn or complacent. URBZ sat Haskins/Burrow behind JT who should have been platooned .Saban had no problem replacing Barnett with Hurts and Hurts with TUA all over 2 seasons. JT played most of 5 seasons in C-Bus

This is the first time in a very long time that we have started a new year with no travel plans. We were supposed to go to Munich, and then take a long cruise - back-to-back from Civitavecchia to Lisbon, and then Lisbon to Fort Lauderdale. We cancelled, due to uncertainty about safety in Europe right now (Putin).

Would have been a nice trip.
