What happened at Buffalo is kinda remarkable. They did a kinda short-sighted firing of a coach who went 8-5 and then started 3-4. They hired a super successful coach who had three years as a D-1 assistant and most of his success on he D-III level, and now they’re 9-1.

Sports are weird.

NC State felt like easily the worst 3 loss team, and that seemed to confirm.

The Mac race is all but wrapped up. Neither of today's games are relevant to the divisional races.

East
Buffalo holds a two game lead over both Miami and Ohio. They already beat Miami. They do play @ Ohio on Wednesday. Even if they lose that game, all they have to do is make a two foot put against Bowling Green in their finale in order to win the division outright.
/In the unlikely event that the Bulls lose both games, Ohio would have to beat Akron in their finale, and Miami could still force a three way Rock Paper Scissors tie (all 3 going 1-1 vs each other) by beating both NIU (unlikely) and Ball St.
.
West
NIU holds a two game lead over second place Western in the West Division.
/They still play each other in the finale, which "could" be for the West IF NIU loses to Miami on Wednesday after Western beats Ball St on Tuesday.

Wow, that is very unexpected.  The margin, not necessarily the result.

The Ohio QB threw a pick and then recovered a fumble, all on the same play.

NIU is lucky that they clinched the West when Ball knocked off Western, because they just dropped a home game to the Redhawks.

Buffalo failed to clinch against Ohio big time, so they will have to wait until next week when they play 2-8 Bowling Green on the road.

Ohio and Miami kept their slim title hopes alive. In the unlikely event that Buffalo barfs up a road game vs BG, Ohio and Miami could each win a share of the East by beating Akron and @ Ball St respectively.

The Bulls would win a H-H tiebreaker vs Miami, and they'd lose one to Ohio.

If Bowling Green, Miami and Ohio all win, you'll have the dreaded three way tie whereby all three teams went 1-1 against each other.

The Redhawks have to win the Red Bird Trophy in order to become Bowl eligible.
