Fairly uninspiring effort from Michigan despite the score. Hard to trust this team.

Agreed. They have lots of talent. IMO this team lacks coaching and leadership on offense.

QB play is a monumental issue. I watch other teams and am blown away the difference between Shea and other QB’s. Patterson makes 1 or 2 throws a game that are truly great throws. I don’t think physical ability is the problem(except deep balls), I believe it’s decision making and ability to sell the misdirection or the option. Secondly, I think it’s mental. He struggles making reads and making the right decision. He throws into coverage far too often.

The line is also an issue which is mind blowing. I’m still not sure if that’s because Patterson can’t throw downfield and defenses know it so they stack the box or if the line simply just underperforms. A mediocre O-line is probably the most confusing part of this team.

The team over all seems to have found a groove though.Watched about the 1st KO TD return - where the hell has that kid been?Perhaps M was just shuffling the deck a little knowing they could do that vs Rutgers. That fake punt that turned into a flying wedge they should have saved for MSU/tOSU - that was sharp

Maybe a case of trying to make those teams back up in some punt spots?

Giles Jackson and Mike Sainstril are small quick explosive dudes. Kinda beats the hell out of me why neither of them have been seen more.

UGA had a guy like that last year and I wondered if the QB simply couldn't see him clearly down field very often.  He's now in the NFL doing reasonably well.

There are several reasons Sainstril and Jackson are not seen more:  Black, Bell, Collins, and DPJ.

Jackson's TD on Saturday wasn't a fluke.  He's been close before.

A decade of Victory over Penn State.

All in since 1969

We've all seen talented teams in the past that for some reason were inconsistent, even quarter to quarter.  They would light some opponent up and then suddenly look hapless with the same personnel.  I don't know if Um qualifies, or why some teams are like this.

A team like Alabama seems consistently to just grind nearly everyone to death in a game.  Clemson can be a bit up and down.  Ohio State this season looks like a team that has always been good, maybe they have had a bad quarter against MSU.  With Michigan, perhaps we don't know which team will show up, and if the good Michigan happens with OSU it would be a game I think.  If the bad version shows up, OSU will blow them out.

I haven't seen a ton out of Black, Collins or DPJ, other than the ability to look the part.  They look like nobody has ever even attempted to teach them how to run a route, because they were always able to get by on raw talent.
