There was a report from Fox Sports in Knoxville and a obscure website that Maurer was entering the Transfer Portal.

Maurer has denied it, but I suspect there will be changes coming

#!@& Lane can stay out of Knoxville.

This is a screwy year due to Covid. The announcers if I heard them right said Bailey only took 10 snaps in preseason camp

I think it's going to take a while to rebuild a team with what Jones had left in Knoxville.  That 8 game winning streak was misleading obviously.

Not for sure but I think there is still some players with a bad mind set.

Don't know if you paid any attention to the Battle years, but when he left and Majors came the cupboard was bare. It took 6-7 years to start being competitive in alk the games and have any depth across the board. IMO, CJP inherited a similar mess. He has recruited some goid players, but we are not there yet.

If i heard the announcers correctly Bailey only had 10 snaps preseason in part due to Covid and when he returned he had a poor showing. He got shelved as they had to concentrate on getting 2 deep ready. Last Sunday he took all the snaps and a lot of the scrubs got their first game experience like practice and a few may be getting more playing time.

The LT and sometimes the RT are missing to many blocks when they edge rush. Our RBs need to block better especially on blitzs. Part of that is JG is not picking up what is coming and the RBs share some of that blame. LBs are getting burnt on passes to the middle of the field. That is Totos fault. He has to get better as do the other young LBs.


The O seemed to have more desire when Bailey was in. I would rather see Gray get the RB position and relief from one of the frosh. Chandler is not a threat there. The RB that got kicked off was a better blocker and receiver than Chandler and is missed.

IMO, it us time to give the QB reins to someone else and play some of the younger players to build for next year

You homers can make up excuses for Covid, for the cupboard was bare or what ever you want but Tater Head is in his third year as HC and still using a less than mediocre Butch Jones left over for QB.

Everyone has had to deal with Covid it just wasn't TN so that dog want hunt.

Face it in the third year improvement should be showing if everything was as bad as some of you claim with but it doesn't look a damn bit better than when Dooley was here or Butch either.

But remember Tater Head was allowed to stay at BAMA instead of coming to Tennessee and start recruiting as he should.

We pay some assistant coach millions of dollars to be a HC and Fulmer even gives him an extension when he hasn't won shit so both of them should be run out of town on a rail.

We don't need damn excuses we need results but instead we got what Gunney Highway said "It's a Cluster F**K".

I quit watching when our WR kicked their guy in the nuts.  I just said “I ain’t watching this sh…” Er, garbage.

I actually feel sorry for JG.  But he’s got to be the worst QB in our history.  I missed the kick.  But the first three possessions I saw were — iirc — pick six.  Fumble.  Pick six.

Ugh.

And then our backup comes in and throws it away on his first pass.

I mean, does Chaney have NO dink and dunk?  Does everything have to be 15 or more yards down the field?  Why don’t we EVER run a slant?  Everyone else does against us, and eats our lunch with it.

I think we have the pieces to be a decent, even good, football team. With some competent QB play.  I mean, losing a close game against the Cats would be one thing.  But just handing them the game…

Saw Bailey throw a couple of passes on the SECN lowlites.  At least he LOOKS like an SEC QB.  Either give him the reins, and let him learn during a year of free eligibility — and hope it doesn’t ruin him —

Or give it to Maurer or Shrout, in what is now, in effect, a practice year for us.

But JG cannot see the field again.
