Has the D line been a conspicuous problem for the Vols?  

I agree with what an earlier poster suggested, play the young guys this year, it's an asterisk season anyway, find the players who want to give 100% and develop them.

I understand moves needing to be made but I would have thought the offensive line played much worse than the DL.
Must be more to it than performance.

The O line sucks.. and, when they're in front of a QB who is destined to eff up, I understand why they're just going through motions. 

It only takes one bad ingredient to make a spectacular pot of chili bad... and the chili would be better off without it even if it renders is just "okay" to eat.  

Get Bailey the reps.  Get the receivers accustomed to him (proper leads; prepared to receive even of they haven't been looked at; timing;) ... get the RBs heads right (block some will ya?)... and... theyll be a good team.  

It's all on JG and the cascade from there.  The D line was tired Saturday just as they were against UGA... because they were being pushed hard by leading teams leaning on them with run and run threat every play more repetitiously than they ever should have been.  

The team quit after the second pick 6... it was apparent to me, though I may have been projecting some.

I wonder how the Oline would play with a decent QB... one that makes good decisions.. doesn't stare down receivers or telegraph the hand off... who doesn't take forever to check off if he does at all... who doesn't get snippy with them as if it's their fault.. who can take the snap, snap a decision, and execute without asking them for "alone time" in the pocket.  Who can decide long before being chased that tucking and running is the better choice. Who sees his receivers covered and doesn't hesitate to throw it away saving game time and lost yardage... who doesn't throw it straight to defenses when it isnt even a pass rush and allows the intercept by an LB, and watches him run past instead of trying to clean him out.... just so the O has to go right back on the field and do it all over again...

They dont rally to JG.. they dont even gather around when he's been sacked and push off the defenses after the fact.  They dont respect him.  Four years now... there will be a fifth... if there is that fifth? JG will be the cause CJP is looking for a job... the loyalty to him defies logic.

I guess he was the cheapest out in order to try to pacify VOL fans before they storm The Hill wanting Tater Head and Phat Phils head on a platter.

If Phat Phil wasn't so stupid by extending Tater Heads contract he could have been shown the door.

At least fire Phat Phil and hire David Blackburn the guy who should have been hired when Curry got stabbed in the back.

Have we reached the point where losing one game that one was favored in warrants mass mutiny? Tennessee was not going to beat Georgia even if they played 18 times. Georgia was simply too good as is Alabama. Upsets happen as  the Kentucky game. Why not wait until after the season is over and look at the entire work product and then make a logical decision? Tennessee could still go 7-3. If the fans give up it hurts your team.

It isn't one game it's a combination of just how bad the coaching is when you can't get a team up or coach well enough to beat Georgia State or BYU. It's the constant blame against everything except what the problem really is.

When everyone knows the starting QB is less than mediocre at best yet the HC keeps starting him fans and alumni alike have finally reached a breaking point.
