No-o-o-o! The horror!

Maybe we'll luck out and Arch will get "hurt" early in the game.  We'll have to send in the backup, whoever that might be.  Not sure even the Texas coaches know who that is.

I guess the equivalent of that would be, here, Texas deciding to deploy a reshuffled OL that against all reason plays perfectly.

Josh Pate's RRS Prediction

He thinks Texas will win because the Horns must win, whereas OU would like to win.

I can see that.

As I recall he picked Florida over Texas, and it seemed like it was basically for similar reasons.

This game is often a wild one, so who knows?

I'd like a Horns win for the sole purpose of alleviating the despondence of Mrs. DeT.

I've seen her in a funk about the Horns before.  I've never seen her so discouraged about the simultaneous struggles of UT coupled with her perception that OU and A&M are good.  She can deal with the former.  She can barely take the former and the latter together.

I try to tell her that I'm not super-sold on OU or A&M just yet, but so far--combined with the Dallas Cowboys defense--it's just crushing her.

Happy wife, happy life.  Horns FTW! :)

i’m expecting an ugly banger. tx is circling the wagons. may not win, but they’ll have something for the sooners. i find the language used re: mateer to be interesting - he is going to “attempt” to play.

That backup came in during a high-pressure situation for 1 play and completed an 18 yard pass (or so).

Yeah.  The backup is always better than the starter around here.

Here's a scene-setter from Toby Rowland, OU's PBP announcer.

Congratulations to the Horns for an extremely well-played game.

I liked the 1st half until the Sooners botched the scoring opportunity at the 1st half. But the Horns came out for the 2nd half with their hair on fire. That was total domination over the last 30 minutes.

Good luck the rest of the way.

Thanks CW
Nobody could be more surprised then me
Could the sooners QB not be operating at full speed?
It looked like that may be the case.

The announcers pointed out that an unrated team beat a rated team in the RRS and this last happened in 1920 or just 105 years ago

As is almost always the case, this game comes down to physicality.

Both teams were timid for most of the first half.

At the VERY end of the first half, both teams started fighting, started getting chippy, even starting getting some unsportsmanlike penalties.

I was delighted to see it.  Because the main thing that has been missing for Texas all season long, has been passion.  Intensity.  Will.

Once Texas finally got THAT going at the end of the first and into the second, the game was over.
