Agree with Gigem and Slick on Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt, that was an inspired rendition.

I like Stevie Ray Vaughn's cover of Little Wing quite a bit better than Jimi Hendrix's original.  Sting also did an interesting cover of that song.

I'm not a huge fan of the Dixie Chicks, but I love their version of Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide."

This isn't the recorded version but an extended live version of Grace Potter's 'Tush', which is more fun to watch with her nice legs and cute bare feet jumping around the stage.

Sia has one of the most distinctive & unique voices of the current crop of pop artists, and her version of this classic always puts me in a good mood.

Gym Class Heroes are one of the groups I got to see live last year & truly enjoy the high energy and clean-flows of Travie McCoy. Their version of Under the Bridge is upbeat & light but I def enjoy it more than the original these days (though I have been disenchanted by RHCP for various reasons so that may be why I like this one more):

Like most Texans, I have a soft spot for Willie Nelson and his cover of Pearl Jam's 'Just Breathe' is just beautifully done IMO.

Patsy Cline's cover of Willie Nelson's "Crazy" is ok, but I much prefer the songwriter's rendition. :)

And I definitely burned out on the RHCP in about 1996.  Everything they do sounds exactly the same, and I've found it grating for the past 2 decades at this point.

Still as sultry & bluesy as Tracy Chapman's hit, but Kelly adds those extra octaves and powerhouse notes to make this one a very well done cover:

Halo was written by Ryan Tedder (OneRepublic) for Beyonce, who obviously owned that song.  But Florence Welch also has a heavenly quality to her voice and with the additional strings and harp added, she makes a compelling and angelic version of it as well.  She is another distinct voice that I admire and she really does pour her soul into her music.

This one I have seen live a few times and know it will NOT be everyone's bag, but is an intriguing cover to me.  Weezer is such a wholesome pop-rock band but to hear their early hit 'Say It Ain't So' morphed into the angsty, distorted dark rock version by Chino Moreno & the Deftones is something truly unique.

Highly Suspect is a relatively new band that has a 90's grunge nostalgia factor for me, with their sound. They are great performers, too, who opened their recent tour sets with this 80's cover of 'Send Me An Angel' by the Australian band Real Life.

Another great one I had the chance to see live last summer, after special request from our local radio station (they do a Chris Isaak game that's fairly funny), is by Theory of a Deadman.  His voice is as powerful as Isaak's and he played the piano the entire time during the live version and it really impressed me.
