Maybe it's just been beaten out of me, but I don't have the usual dread that's happened when Texas has (all too frequently) changed coaches.
I feel like Sark is a true visionary. He seems like someone who's not only interested in finding new ways to play football, but that he feels like being HC at Texas is like being named to play with Queen. It's a privilege and a responsibility.

I think he's been through the "I always win" phase and realizes that only hard workers win. He seems like a guy that players can relate to, but still respect.

Just kidding.  Time will tell.  I don't get excited about recruiting classes and I won't get excited about a head coaching hire.

For each, the final exam is simple-- win on the field.  A lot.

We were trying to talk Urban Myer into leaving his gig and get back into coaching. Even if he did, he really didn't want to.

I'm not sure exactly why Steve Sarkisian decided to come to Texas. He's had other offers at HC that he turned down. There was more than even money that he'd get to step into Saban's shoes in a few years. He must feel like Texas is something more than just another state program.

My point exactly. He's backed up his press conference cheerleading by doing different things on a football field. He's had the view from the HC office before and been both successful and a rough failure. If he picked the Texas job now, he feels something.

But yeah, sweat in the offseason wins games. Press conferences don't factor.
