Doug Pederson fired from the Eagles. Kind of surprised honestly. I know they sucked hard this year, but he took them to the playoffs in 4 of his 5 seasons and won a super bowl.

I’d sure as hell take him as a Co-OC at Michigan lol. Let him call the plays and run the show, just retain Gattis for his crootin chops and make him go coach WRs- what he really does best.

NFL is cut throat. Belichik better find some weapons on offense and a QB next year or his seat will start to warm up.

Oh man, I still have nightmares about the year that Pederson was the Browns QB. I don't think he threw a single pass to a guy that was more than one yard beyond the line of scrimmage.

Yeah, Tim Couch and Ty Detmer suffered season ending injuries right out of the gate, and then it was the Doug Pederson show the rest of the year. Even with his noodle arm, he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.

Of course he missed a game too, when we were treated to some guy named Spergon Wynn.

Spergon Wynn played like D2 or D3 college ball and completed 47% of his passes for his college career. And he still got drafted ahead of Tom Brady.

yeah...this.

Brady was a good college QB. He completed 62%+ his college career, had a TD to INT ratio of 2.5:1, lead 3 big 4th QTR comebacks his 5th year, and was a solid player at the highest level (FBS-P5) of the sport.

Spergon Wynn played D2 small ball and completed 47% for his college career and threw more INT's than TD's in his college career.

Forget the fact that he was drafted ahead of Brady- the fact that he was drafted at all is mind blowing.

Well, he was FCS, not D2.  And he did start at Minnesota before transferring.  But yeah, the numbers were not pretty.  5.1 ypa as a senior?

I thought he transferred from Minnesota because he lost his job? Everything outside of the P5 is division 2 to me lol.

Regardless, he was a terrible college QB playing against low level competition. If that's not a huge red flag, don't know what is. Mind blowing he got drafted at all.

I think Wynn was FCS, he played at Texas State which is in the Sunbelt now, iirc (Edit: ELA confirmed while I was typing). But yeah, he was horrible. His one start with the Browns was a 48-0 loss which was by far their worst loss in a 3-13 season.

The first two wins that year were with Tim Couch against the Bengals and the Steelers. "So then who was Doug Pederson's lone win against?" you ask? Why Bill Belichick's New England Patriots, of course.
