I'm trying not to put too much stock last weeks results. (both OSU and Wisconsin rolled) I think OSU still has lots of warts, and injuries, that keep this team from being a playoff contender.

I haven't paid enough attention to Wisconsin to see if they are capable of spoiling OSU's quest to win the B1G. They did get upset earlier, have they figured out the kinks in their armor?

Night game in the Shoe, I'll be amped and ready for hopefully a classic game with the good guys (Ohio State) ultimately pulling out a victory.
Good way to look at it.

Nobody is a playoff contender today.   That is miles away, and all the teams will have momentum changes and ups and downs before then.

One thing I was thinking about...

If UW loses this game, it will likely spend the rest of the season unranked.

The schedule after OSU:

Therefore, UW will spend the rest of the season unranked.

Long season even if they're upended in C-Bus. Outside of Georgia right now no one looks like a slam dunk so they will be back in the top 25 - if they run the table

Maybe Rutgers and Maryland will hit the Portal
But we want to keep Maryland. Boot Rutgers please.

Schedule looks pretty weak till that Minnesota game.
Even if they lose to OSU, a lot of that ranking depends on how the loss looks. Play 4 quarters of quality ball and they will be ranked again by week 6. Get smoked 59-0 and yah, it will be hard to get back into the top 25 even winning the west.

I'm leaning to this game being a lot closer than what Vegas thinks.

3 keys to Wisconsin keeping up:

1. Run the football
2. Stop the run
3. Pressure the quarterback

Not me.

I don't think either team has opened up the playbook completely, but OSU has a ton more playbook than UW does, because it has so many more playmakers.

When you put 2 quality Big Ten Teams on the field- all bets are off. Wisconsin is one of the more physical teams out there.  They have the skill to dictate a bit of a game in a phone booth- like ND did with OSU, only with a better and more experienced QB, and a much more talented set of RBs.

Actually Schiano has them playing well,if they can keep more kids home it would be a solid program. I guess the same applies to the Terps

I actually think both can be really solid programs with the right coaches. There is PLENTY of talent in the NJ/NY area for Rutgers and DMV area conversely for Maryland for good coaches to build solid 8-9 win a year programs there.

List of Wisconsin RB's from Jersey in my fanhood timeframe is solid.

Ron Dayne
Anthony Davis
PJ Hill
Corey Clement
Jonathon Taylor
Jalen Berger

Didn't need Rutgers in the conference to get any of those guys.

MSU got a WR in 2015ish who was a top 20 recruit at one point.  Dropped (probably because he didn't go to Clemson) to a 4*, and never really panned out.  Wound up going to law school, while trying to play as a RS senior.  Super bright kid, but wasn't a major contributor on the field

for this to happen, either thay have to dominate the West, which is possible
or steal wins from the East

5-6 conference wins for each program mean 10 losses to opponents in conference
