Why the F is Stroud still in the game?  And Henderson?
I wondered the same thing. They were in to score more I guess? Oh well. Good thing they didn't get hurt because that would would fall on Ryan Day.

I kinda cringed when I read this on Friday. Maybe not worry about the draft and just play. Or something.

And yeah, definitely a draft-changing game, it was. See you next year in Madison?

"We talked about it," senior defensive tackle Keeanu Benton said.

"Especially me and Nick (Herbig). This is going to be a draft-changing game. They have a good offense, and we have a great defense. So, I feel like it's going to be a battle out there."

And here it is.

UW failed the only test it had, while OSU earned a C in its only test. Might look like a D now though.

I'm thinking UW will have two new starters on OL for this week, or at least one at RG.

Graham Mertz is looking a lot better than last year.

The defense, while replacing 8 starters from last year, still looks pretty solid.

I think this will be a good game for 3 quarters and OSU pulls away in the 4th. UW does not have the depth to keep up. Broken record, yes.
I was right about UW failing its only test. To date, anyway. More to come...

I was wrong about the OL. Not 2 new starters. It was 3 (if you count Brown* moving from RT to LT).

Miss on Mertz (really had no time to do anything anyway, but still).

Huge miss. Nothing solid about that.

Epic fail. UW scores in garbage time. There was nothing close about this game.

* Why?? Why not Rucci?

Yep. OSU goes 88 yards in a few seconds and it was over. Everyone knew it right there.

Who looks better than Herbie Husker
Much will be new with Nebraska football in 2023, namely that the Cornhuskers will potentially be under new management after Scott Frost was fired and once Mickey Joseph runs out the year as interim. Beyond new leadership in the football facility, athletic director Trev Alberts shared that Nebraska will have an updated version of an old favorite mascot.

Herbie Husker, the cowboy-hat-wearing squared-jawed grinning mascot, will go back to an old-school version, Alberts announced. It will be a “slightly modernized” version of the classic mascot, according to Sam McKewon of the Omaha World-Herald.

“Complete with corn and overalls,” Alberts said, according to McKewon.
