Who is your 24 and 24?

Say college football (and college sports in general) are going to a 24-team Big Ten and a 24-team SEC.
The rest are left out and either become FCS or in some sort of purgatory.
I'd say assume ND remains an independent peer.
Obviously it's unlikely any B1G or SEC teams leave those conferences.
So who is in one or the other?

I'd keep it divided along Civil War lines, with the purple and green going to the SEC.

Each conference is about to be at 16, so 8 more each. Notre Dame will be given no preferential treatment here. They need to shit or get off the pot.

This is not what I want to see, rather it's a realistic view of what will probably happen. We pretty much know the SEC does not want more Florida schools, based on the rumblings out there.

B1G additions:

FSU
Miami
UNC
UVA
Stanford
Oregon
Washington
ND

SEC additions:

VT
NC State
Clemson
WVU
Pitt
Louisville
Oklahoma State
Texas Tech 


The SEC remains completely contiguous here, while the B1G is chopped up.

might as well go to 10-team divisions with 9 conference games or 9-team divisions with 8 games

if 24 is good, 27 or 30 is better

60 teams doesn't leave so many out.

Alabama has gotten a lot of viewers by getting to the SECCG, playoff and championship that would otherwise not watch Alabama. And I'm not picking on Alabama.

sec gets:
 - unc, duke, clemson, and nc st to round up the carolinas and keep the roundball bros together.
 - fsu and miami cause makes most sense for them in sec
 - ok st to go with ou
 - ga tech back to sec

big takes in:
 - uva and va tech cause they want uva and tech tags along
 - wvu and pitt for the rivalry and location
 - cal, stanford to clean up california
 - wash and wsu to round out west coast division

next round of pick ups:

sec takes kansas, ksu, tcu, and either baylor or tt
big takes oregon, oregon st, nd, and ... 'cuse? bc?
