Two.  You'd have to either hit two 100:1 or longer bets, played consecutively,  or a fairly broad possible sequence of two bets at the horse track.  There are plenty of instances of 50 cent and $1 bets hitting mid to upper Six figure payouts.  I'd argue there's a reasonable scenario of a $1mil payout on a single $100 wager assuming a big handle.

This assumes you're discounting a lottery win.

I guess I was just thinking popular upset picks.  Tyson losing to Douglas was something like 42-1.  Putting $100 (or whatever you had from previous bets) on 40-point underdog Stanford over USC, etc.

We could get into a big fight about why this is true.  Hint:  it has to do with big corporations, the status quo, and income inequality.
.
But I won't start us down that path.

If I had any interest in learning about "your" (lol) political views, I'd be watching Ms Nbc instead of posting on a CFB message board.

Computers are an overrated invention, imo. They don't really do anything that we couldn't do before, they just do it faster and more efficient.

But they sure have saved a lot of trees.

You think anyone in 1980s California could find the latest Purdue info?
And this is exactly why the information highway was created.Specifically so a forlorn, transplanted, midwestern zymurgist could keep track of his school's fortunes. And to teach me how to type - the only examples I could find ;D

A porn machine?

And a 900 number you could call and get all of the rocks off.
Good to see you spend your time prudently crafting lesson plans. And wholesome they are

I mean, that speed changed the world in untold profound ways. Same argument could be made of the internal combustion engine. We could move all the same things before, jut much, much slower.

I wonder what inventions are underrated. Maybe some mundane food processing thing.
The Haber process.

My Dad was born in a house with no electricity.  Cars were very rare.  There was no official record he existed until he enlisted in 1942.

Polio was a huge fear even when I was a kid, but we had electricity of course.  That single thing is enormous in terms of quality of life.

Running water, hot water, cooking on an electric range, ....

This is SOOOOOO tired.
Pretending moderates are far-leftist doesn't make it true.
They're doing it with Biden now, and it's just as nonsensical.
The Democratic primary was a 4-person race:  2 moderates and 2 far-leftists.....Biden & Buttigeg were the moderates, Warren and Bernie the lefties.  We all know this.
Yet, no matter who won was to be demonized as a far-left boogeyman.
.
It's so boring.

When people on either side get too far from center, their VIEW is ASKEW.

Good Lord.

It is almost as though Rachel Maddow has her hand up your hind end, flapping your gums like a puppet.

You don't have to view Biden as a far leftie to disagree with his platform and policy.

Same thing goes in reverse for the Republican platform and policy, with respect to liberals.

And of course, Trump wasn't even a Republican.
