I just watched "Big Trouble in Little China" for the first time.  It was the exact quality I thought it would be, but it was way off the deep end as far as content, lol.
Was Kurt Russell the king of bad 80s movies??  100% of them have the most cliched main character and incessant saxophone/synthesizer music throughout.
Was not expecting there to be a huge mystical/magical - almost SciFi element to that movie.

I like Giant.  It was filmed just outside of Marfa and my dad was born and raised in neighboring Alpine, so that made it special for him and he passed that on to me.  In the 70s there was still some framing for the set that remained and we went and visited it once.

Is Top Gun worth a watch? At this point, after hearing all the songs, repeated dialogue, Tom Cruise acting like a douche, and preview commercials on USA Network, I might as well have seen it piecemeal by now.

It's one of the iconic 80s movies.  If that's your thing.

It's not Casablanca or anything, but I watched it with the kids recently and they enjoyed it.
