I'm trying to find corroboration, but I think we've actually been close to or setting record highs locally a bit over the past 1-2 weeks.

My pool is at 58 degrees. Solar can't keep up and I'm not turning on the heat pump.

I just learned over the weekend that someone I knew from my little hometown was one of the people killed in that plane crash in Maine.  Didn't that have something to do with the weather?  As in, the big national winter storm system creating conditions that should've precluded a little craft like that from trying to take off?  I only heard just a little bit about it in the news and didn't pay it much attention.

Then I started seeing on bookface a bunch of people posting memorial-type stuff about her, and saw how she'd died.  I didn't know her very well, and hadn't seen her in many, many years.

I just felt my first earthquake.  

Epicenter 6.8 miles northwest of town--probably 10 miles from my office, 2.9 on Richter.

Not cool.  We're only supposed to have deal with tornadoes, 100 mph straight-line winds, drought, and blizzards.
