$0.11.9 for Texas is a lie, by the time they add all the pass-thru charges it's more like $0.15-.16.  Maybe you other Texas peeps have seen it cheaper but that's what it is here.

Yeah, what HE said.  Energy is super expensive in Texas.  So don't move here.

My last bill was $0.32/kWh. However the previous month (heavily impacted by use of AC) was $0.40/kWh.

Like Gigem says, I don't know what the actual "rate" is. They have generation charges and then they have delivery charges and then they have some sort of baseline credit, and some sort of wildlife fund... I'm sure they can play with those numbers however they want to claim the actual rate is lower than what I'm ultimately paying.

So I just divided my bill by my usage because ultimately my bill divided by my kWh is what matters. That, to me, is my "rate".

We have a gas furnace.

But we never run the furnace, even in the dead of "winter". So that doesn't matter much.

NG is only used for the stove/oven, and the water heater.

Nothing in our house is gas, but last year I had the city run a line when we purchased a home generator.  It sits right on the outside wall where the stove is, and I've idly wondered about just splitting off the main line--it wouldn't be far--and putting in a gas stove.  Wife would prefer that, and the stove is showing signs it will go kaput sooner or later.  I've already replaced both the top and bottom burners in the oven, but when the range tops fail, I don't even know how to get at those in a model like ours, much less how to repair them.
