So, he was booked and then released OR 1 hour ten minutes later.  Somebody in booking realized the deal and expedited in a huge way over normal procedure, probably the ADA or judge. 
The President of Valhalla picked him up.

Police are also quite protected and get a lot of latitude for such things. What even would he sue for?
Truly, I don't know. I wasn't the one who suggested he'd sue them. 

He's playing well today so far.

Usually, a person booked for a felony is going to be held overnight, maybe at minimum some hours.  Somebody in this process figured out who he was and what the deal was, this was expedited much more than would be typical for a felony.
