It could be cheap wine is nastier than cheap beer.

I can find quite drinkable wine for $10/btl.  Josh is pretty solid at that price.

IMHO, US beer is now often better than the RU stuff.  EU stuff.

Work has me in Southeast Asia this week - more details to post later...

However, anyone with experience flying aboard Korean Air? 🇰🇷

I've flown Korean Air routes from Atlanta to Seoul, Busan to Tokyo, and more recently, Seattle to Seoul and Seoul to Bangkok. Included in the safety video played before takeoff was an additional notice I'd never seen tagged onto a warning against interfering with the cabin crew: Do Not Photograph The Flight Attendants.

And I could see why - I could not be more impressed with the elegance of Korean Air's flight attendants. All women, mostly around thirty; they look fantastic in perfectly tailored uniforms of sleek powder blue blouses over light beige skirts. (Uniforms that are designed by the famed late Italian fashion designer Gianfranco Ferré, former creative director of Dior.) With their coordinated hair styling, makeup, and careful postures, they carry themselves more like models on a fashion runway.

Disclaimer: I did not take this photo 😄

Never been on that airline. Seems a little like Emirates.

Flew on it a couple of times back in the late 90s, but not since. It was nice...nearly 30 years ago.

My wife noticed KLM had nicer looking FAs.  I did too.

I’ve never flown on an Asian carrier.  Have done Dubai Airlines, not great, short flight.

KLM is pretty solid overall I think.

We like KLM. Good airline to hop around on whilst in Europe.

Best flight back and forth to Europe? I'd probably hand that to Lufthansa.

We were on a KLM 787 coming back, it was nice.   I had a semi bad experience with Lufthansa, but it’s probably ok otherwise.

Of the major "western" carriers I've experienced more than once, I don't see much difference.  One flight can be solid, and then next a bit sketchy, on Delta, or AA, or United, or whoever.  Air France USED to have better food, I thought, but I think now they source the same as Delta.  We both "like" Delta, which is a good thing considering where we reside.  They get it done.

My usual calculation is how much to pay extra to get into a better class seat.  It used to be "Economy Comfort" for the extra leg room.

I still don't really understand how ticket prices can vary wildly over day of the week or whether it's nonstop or not.  I guess business travelers tend to fly out on Monday etc.

We used to get "first class" flying to Europe at work, they only had two classes back then, now there are at least four.

For work I used to get business class overseas which automatically upgraded any domestic connections you might have, to first class.  I've never flown first class overseas, it looks pretty nice.

I flew it once, to/from China in 2011(?). It was exactly as you described.

Apparently in Europe, this is common.

Our airport has a private service in place of TSA. I like that.
