Yup same here. My dad has always referred to standard time as "Daylight Wastings Time."
Lol. Mine, too.

For Wendover and Jackpot, wouldn't want the sinners coming from the east to have to reset their clocks when they come across the border. :-)

Don't know who in CA is in favor of permanent standard time.

I'd prefer permanent DST. I'd rather the sun stay up "later" in the afternoon in the winter than come up "earlier" in the morning.

when/If I retire, I won't worry about getting in a round of gold after work
I'll just play in the morning

I'd rather the sun be down earlier when it's 90 and humid and I want to be outside. Just as I'd rather have the sun wake me up in the morning.

I feel bad for the folks at the east end of a timezone. In eastern Maine the sun sets at 3:54 in early December.

I am at the west end of a time zone. The next town over gets dark an hour earlier, according to their clocks.

Back in Oregon. Hiked 11 switchbacks to the top of Multnomah Falls:

I've been there once, but I think we only went as far as the bridge.

Multanomah Falls is about as convenient of an outdoorsy tourist spot as you can get. Very accessible; only a 30 minute drive from Portland - see Interstate 84 running along the Columbia River in the upper corner. The full hike of the Falls is only just over a mile long. There's a gift shop at the trailhead. Only inconvenience is the limit parking, which isn't a problem in winter.

spent some time along the Columbia River back in the summer of 76 - Late June

My aunt owned and operated the Eager Beaver Drive-In in Woodland, WA - great broasted chicken

I remember swimming in Horseshoe lake the water was freezing cold.
