This Is Sparta But Is Purdue Xerxes (SOC 11/6/21)

It's pitch dark outside. Daylight Savings Time starts tonight, which gives us a bit of time where it isn't pitch dark, until it is again. Totally worth the effort. Not sure what I'll be doing today - Buckeyes play at noon, and the kids will be at the wife's parents. And the wife isn't working. Will we actually go out and do something together? Possibilities are endless. Or will we fall asleep on the couch at 6? Adventure knows no bounds.

Schedule:
  • Noon, FOX, #5 Ohio State at Nebraska
  • Noon, ESPN2, Illinois at #20 Minnesota
  • 3:30, ABC, #3 Michigan State at Purdue
  • 3:30, BTN, #21 Wisconsin at Rutgers
  • 3:30, FS1, Penn State at Maryland
  • 7 pm, BTN, #22 Iowa at Northwestern
  • 7:30, FOX, Indiana at #7 Michigan

Others
  • Noon, ABC, #9 Wake Forest at North Carolina
  • Noon, SECN, Liberty at #16 Ole Miss
  • 3:30, ESPN2, Tulsa at #6 Cincinnati
  • 3:30, CBS, #13 Auburn at #14 TAMU
  • 7:30, ABC, #4 Oregon at Washington

Thanks to the change of weekends for the end of daylight savings, the sun won't come up here in MSP until after 8 AM. Very dark departure for the Flats and the game vs. the Fighting Berts.

Fantastic weather, though. High of 61, but our seats will be in the shade the whole game.

It's light here now, just before 8.

yes, mid-60s this afternoon.  I'm going golfing at 1pm.  The Husker game won't be over, but I assume the Husker game will be over.

I've packed it in for this, Frost's 4th season.  I'll watch, but all I have is the hope of an upset the last few games.

the weather is too good for a pot of chili today, but the weather the past week was perfect and got me craving chili, so.. it's going in the pot this morning.  Not my competition recipe, but some ground beef and pork and only a bit of heat.  This way my daughter will enjoy it.  Sadly, no beans.

I've got the coffee going with a bloody scheduled for 10am, pre-kickoff

60°F here today and PC, 36°F forecast low tonight.  The past few days have been a bit dreary/cloudy, so some sun is welcome even if it gets here late.

The Dawgs play at noon, which is OK for a game with a 39 point spread.  I'm interested whether UK can turn it around or lets their season evaporate, and whether Tenn is a scoring machine in reality against a pretty good D.  Wake is a dog at UNC which is "unusual" for the #9 team.  The Auburn/TAMU winner still has a shot at the West and would make the Iron Bowl pivotal either way, probably.

The B1G slate LOOKS predictable, which could means there is an upset there somewhere.  Iowa at NW?

Chilly today. Don’t like it. Maybe need some chili.

Got in a non-strenuous workout, aka, A leg day where I try to not tear my back. Have lunch plans with a friend I haven’t seen in too long, and then going to settle in for some games.

I don’t like the spot for the badgers. Rude game against a team that’s just competent enough. High end let down spot.

A seasonable 59 here in South Florida.  Feels GREAT.

Some decent games today.

Our Tough Guy outing was a lot of fun yesterday.  Just insane pin placements.   Cold wasn't an issue.   Wife made chili last night.   Quite a good scratch effort.

Need to get new winter coat for the 10yr old.  Kids grow you know.
