An angle grinder with a wire wheel is by far the fastest way to clean a grill grate. :103:

Yeah, my response was...

You clean your grill grates in the sink??

I have a thing called Grill Floss that can get any caked on bits off all parts of the grates, and a grill brush. Between that and heat, I don't know what more I'd need.

Because I don't have a better place to clean them, which is what I'm looking for.  I have a wire brush specifically for that, and combined with the heat, it's still shit.  So I take them out and scrub them on both sides, which works fine, but is cumbersome, slow, and messy, because they don't fit in the sink, unless I want to make a royal mess, in which case I can make it go way faster.  Wife might murder me, tho.  I've also just stood them in the yard and turned the hose on them, which is also fast, I just get myself all wet.

I guess I'll give the grill floss a try because I'm not finding anything that connects to an actual hose, just standard faucet connectors.  Probably takes longer than washing it down, but would avoid the messes I'm currently making.

I'd think if you bought a laundry room / utility sink, you could get a hose splitter and adapter to actually connect a hose directly to the sink's supply line. Ideally if you could run another hose somewhere for a drain line if you have drainage, then it'd be a "permanent" installation with a standard sink faucet.

But I'm sure just a walk around the Home Depot plumbing section would find you an adapter. Something like this? https://www.amazon.com/Fittings-Adapter-Compression-Bathroom-Connector/dp/B094819VH9/

If you don't want to basically install a utility sink out there, why not just go low-tech? Get one of those big black plastic storage bins from Costco, use your hose sprayer, and you can drop the entire grate in there, let it soak, scrub it as necessary, and just dump it out afterwards.

Top grate would, the main one won't.

My grill isn't the manliest, but it's at least that manly :)

Yeah, I'm sure it can be rigged up, I was just browsing around for something that came that way.  I'm gonna try the grill floss thing first since it's cheaper than buying a sink.

I guess if I wanted to be really nature-y and conserve water and expend zero effort, I could just leave them in the yard and let the ants do their work :57:
