Even so, you'd have indifferent build quality, and not much handling in a relative sense.  The transmission would have to be changed and the rear end.

It's completely stock - all numbers match. 2500 miles.

I looked into maybe buying an older Corvette.  There is an outlet near us that specializes in them.

A decent looking C6 goes for $30-40K.  That's about as old as I'd go I think, the C5s were still pretty clunky.

On the other hand, I could get this for a bit more (OK, quite a bit more, $60 K).

2012 Chevrolet Corvette - 12-105004N | Corvettes for Sale, classic, vintage, and late model at Buyavette® - Atlanta, Georgia

Looks decent, low mileage, $38 K.

I looked at C6 2008 and newer( 6.2) for a long time - then covid hit and all used cars got expensive
I also wanted the Grand Sport because I could get a automatic tranny - the ZO6 is great with the 7.0 liter but only with a manual.
you really should do it.  Drive it for a year or two, just to say you had one!

I like the C1s.  I'd drive one of those if someone bought it for me. :)

yup, C4s and C5s are my least favorite, but if someone wants to give me one or the other, I'll park it next to my C8

C1 or 2, 7 or 8 for me. Didn't care for them 196 to whenever the C7 came out. I thought the C3 was the worst one. Just didn't like GM styling in the 70s (but didn't like anyone else's styling either). The '57 and fastback C2 (not as sure of the changes year over year) are probably my favorites of the oldies. Modern Corvettes are pretty slick, IMO.
