So we're now on the home stretch to 16 with my son.  His grandparents are gonna buy him a car, just like they did for his sister, and their other grandchild who is now 31 (they've actually bought him several cars over the years but that's another story).

Anyway, he's been all over the place on what he wants.  For a while it was a Dodge Challenger.  Then it was the Charger.  Then it was the Toyota GR86/Subaru BRZ (they're sister cars).  Recently it's been a Camaro.

And now, he's mentioned wanting a small pickup truck, like the Toyota Tacoma.  I've always liked these, and this one actually makes my mouth water a little bit...

I can't stop them.  Well, I mean, I could, but this is something they really really want to do.  They know they're not going to be around forever and this is something they know will bring great joy to their grandkids.  They bought my daughter the Mustang convertible, and they'll do something similar for my son.

I think part of it is because they've bought my nephew at least 3 cars that I know of, over the years.  The most recent was just a couple of years ago.  So in their minds I think they're keeping a tally on what they've spent, and they want to keep it equal.  Grandparent logic.
