What I like about the dragy is that it’s very accurate, and it will even tell you how level the road is that you’re on as well as the density altitude, which is very important.   Plus, he keeps a history of your runs, let you measure your 60 foot rollout when you do a quarter mile and fun stuff like that

If I go all the way back to 2007, it'll be 5 cars. However I can't *completely* take credit as I was still in college so I didn't buy those two. One was a heavily used 1989 Ford Probe GT that we bought, and then that was replaced when my grandma stopped driving and we sold the Probe b/c it had less miles than her 1985 Chrysler LeBaron Turbo so I started driving the LeBaron. 

If we're talking cars that I've actually purchased (for myself; i.e. excluding wife's vehicles), it's three since 2003. 


  • 2000 Ford Ranger (sold in 2012 to buy...)
  • 2009 Jeep Wrangler (still owned)
  • 2014 Ford Flex (daily driver)

new 2007 Impala SS
new 2015 Silverado pickup - still in the garage
new 2024 Vette - still in storage

used 2017 Impala in 2022 - work car

I did have one company car from 1999-2001 that I didn't count.  It was a 1999 Dodge Stratus. 

My i s c & a aggie wife has also had 3 since '97.

1992 Honda Accord 1995-2004.  Best car either one of us has ever owned and I wish we'd kept it instead of selling it to my sister who gave it to her son, my nephew, who totaled it a couple of months later
2003 Toyota Camry Solara SLE convertible 2005-2020.  Untrustworthy piece of shit but she liked the way it looked.
2017 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 2020-present.

With 2025 Corvette ZR1 orders getting their much needed do-over tomorrow, we’ve been thinking about when we would learn the final piece of the ZR1 pricing puzzle which would be the gas guzzler tax for America’s newest supercar. Well, that moment arrived late Wednesday afternoon as we were able to confirm with a Chevrolet representative that the ZR1’s gas guzzler tax would be $3,000.


Considering that the 2025 Corvette Z06’s gas guzzler tax is $3,000 for the 670-hp LT6, we were thinking that the ZR1’s rating would be higher considering that it makes 1,064-hp from the twin-turbo LT7. The Stingray and E-Ray share the 495-hp LT2 and there is no gas guzzler tax for that engine.

Now that we have the gas guzzler price, the Corvette ZR1’s Build and Buy Configurator is now fully functional as it shows your build’s summary price at the top right corner instead of “See Dealer for Details.” Under the summary of info on the left side, the Gas Guzzler Tax is now a line-item:

I had a 90 Accord 4-door. It was a good car.
We've owned several Hondas, including the one my kid just dinged up.
The best was our 2006 Odyssey. Nothing cool, sexy, or fun about it, but it did its job brilliantly. Don't miss it; not sad that we replaced it when we did, but had a real good 13-year run with that thing.
