What's your favorite liquored libation?I mostly stick with the Suds but when foraying into the fire water I enjoy sipping Jim Beam(original),Wild Turkey 101.My one buddy raves about Elijah Craig Small Batch, guess that'll be the next.

In the winter it's mostly Scotch.  Single malt Scotch whiskys for the most part, and even more specifically, the really smoky ones from the Islay region.  I also like bourbon too, occasionally.

In the summer I like margaritas, gin and tonic, and caipirinha.

Other favorite mixed drinks/cocktails that I tend to order as an aperitif before a formal dinner, are sazerac, old fashioned, kir, kir royale, and the French 75.

is that a liqueur/cognac

It's a cocktail.  I prefer mine with rye.

The Sazerac is a local variation of a cognac or whiskey cocktail originally from New Orleans, named for the Sazerac de Forge et Fils brand of cognac brandy that served as its original main ingredient. Wikipedia
Ingredients1 1/2 oz Rye whiskey or Cognac, 1/4 oz Absinthe, One sugar cube, Three dashes Peychaud's Bitters
PreparationRinse a chilled old-fashioned glass with the absinthe, add crushed ice and set it aside. Stir the remaining ingredients over ice and set it aside. Discard the ice and any excess absinthe from the prepared glass, and strain the drink into the glass. Add the Lemon peel for garnish.
ServedStraight up; without ice
Standard garnishLemon peel
DrinkwareOld Fashioned glass

jim beam bottled in bond is pretty good for cheap. angels envy is my go to. i like scotches as well, and single malt is way to go, but i've been mostly bourbon drinking for a few years now.

i also like tequila, doesn't give me headaches like some of the others.

my wife is a big coffee drinker, so we get a lot of irish cream, five farms i think is the brand. comes in an old milk bottle thing.

for mixed drinks, margaritas or white russian.

I like Tito's, Bombay Sapphire and Johnnie Walker Red. I also like the Highland Single Malts.

My favorite Scotch would be Lagavulin 16.

My go tos are Titos, thanks, Tanqueray, and Woodford Reserve.  I've tried most of the popular bourbons, and I can't beat Woodford.

The wife LOVES caiparoskas.  She encountered this in Brazil.  It's made with vodka.  She prefers the GG but I give her Titos when she's not looking.

Hennesy XO is also on my list.

same list for myself, but I fixed it for you.  I'm sure the RED was a freudian slip from the Badgers

Tito's is fine, but if someone else is buying, I always go with Ketel One

Being in stage 2 renal failure, I have had to cut back on my consumption of alcohol. However, I will still enjoy a Makers Mark and Ginger Ale on occasion as an after dinner drink. I prefer Makers Mark 46, but Makers Original is ok too. And while on vacation, a Bloody Mary with 3 Olives or Grey Goose vodka is a nice go to in the mornings. As I work from home, I could probably get away with having one any morning I wish. :)

For a few years after my kidney failure (and subsequent partial recovery), I lost my taste for beer. Hell, I lost my taste for a lot of things, but for some reason, beer just make my stomach turn. However, lately I've found delight in a nice cold beer now and then while hanging out with some friends.

What is stage 2 renal failure? I know it's kidney, but I don't know what stages mean (or how many stages there are).

It diminished kidney function where the kidneys are operating between 50-60% (I think. All I know is mine are around 55%). The doctor's tell me I am in stage 2.

I stand corrected. I just googled it and Stage 2 is a GFR rating of 60-89%. I am in Stage 3, 30-59%. Maybe I should do a better job of listening to my doctor. ~???

I have a thing for what whiskey snobs will say is an abomination, but I love Skewball whiskey.  It is peanut butter flavored.

If I am ordered a drink out, it would probably just be a jack and diet.

Most of the time, it is just a nice cold beer.

A  friend from Amarillo & sooner fan gave me a couple bottles of TX blended while in Texas last week.

Very good although pretty sweet

I'm thankful it was two bottles, because the first one didn't make it out of Texas.

now I want to try the bourbon
