Not a problem here, the HOA will fine the crap out of you if you're a repeat offender.
That was the case here, but now Florida Law (as of 2026) says you have 24 hours to bring them in.

Yeah I don't know the law here but it's effectively the same.

But MDT was talking about people who leave it out all day every day every week. That'll get you fined here.

my garbage can is usually off the street within an hour of the truck coming by Monday morning - unless I'm out of town

We get afternoon storms/wind now. We bring them in immediately, so we don't have to empty water or chase them down the street.

I generally try to take them down in the afternoon the day they're emptied. The yard waste and recycling bins are later in the day so I don't bother taking the general trash bin in until they're all empty. 

But *sometimes* I don't get to it until the following morning.
