I love good Chicago tavern style pizza, but you have to admit that cutting it into squares makes for messy fingers when eating it, which isn't a problem with the traditional wedge cuts. And I LIKE the edge crust on a Chicago tavern style, but when cut into squares you don't get that on every piece. Plus cut into squares you get those weird corner pieces which are basically all crust with maybe a tiny little bit of sauce and a tidbit of cheese, if you're lucky. 

I'd suspect that you simply like Chicago tavern style pizza because it's delicious, not "because" it's cut into squares, and you wouldn't like it less if it was cut into wedges... But you'd have to tell me if I'm wrong on that.

I like square cut because I don't have to feel bad about throwing away the edge of the crust because someone else can get those pieces.
