I've noted often that the forecasting folks seem to try and insert some oddballs to get eyeballs.

focus on two key areas: red zone scoring efficiency and points per game. To keep things grounded, I compared these stats for every Big Ten team from 2024 and matched them against each team’s win-loss record.

Here’s how it breaks down.

Florida Highway Patrol's C8 Corvette Cruiser Wins 'Best Looking' Contest

This Black and Tan C8 Corvette Stingray that is now doing duty as a Florida Highway Patrol Cruiser just helped the state of Florida win the “Best Looking Cruiser” competition for the third straight year.

The best-looking police cruiser contest is run by the American Association of State Troopers. Each state submits their entry and then the voting is open to all. With its win, the Florida Highway Patrol becomes the first state to win the Best-Looking Cruiser contest for three straight years.

The photo submission from Florida shows the FHP’s Corvette Cruiser with its emergency lights activated set against the vibrant backdrop of Miami as the sun sets behind the city’s skyline.

“Florida is a state filled with pride and support for our law enforcement officers, and this historic, first ever three-peat is a reflection of that,” said FLHSMV Executive Director Dave Kerner. “This first-ever three-peat is a credit to our team’s creativity, our agency’s mission, and the thousands of Floridians who rallied behind us once again. I’m incredibly proud of our troopers, staff, and the support we’ve received from the public and our partners statewide.”

The calendars will be available for purchase in October at StateTroopers.org, with net proceeds benefiting the AAST Foundation, which provides educational scholarships to dependents of member troopers.

Where's the rest of it? What were the Huskers ranked in most big ten NFL draft picks since 2020?

Florida....kinda same climate as here, but even more hurricane-y.  Nah.

North Carolina....maybe....not sure I've ever been there, but I hear parts are pretty.

South Carolina.....WTF???

Georgia....already lived there a couple of years, not impressed.  Nah.

AZ on the other hand....I don't know about the cost of living, jobs market, etc., but I like the climate and I like the scenery.  I'd live there.

South Carolina is pretty much like North Carolina geographically, the mountains are not as tall or widely spread of course.  VA and GA are similar as well.

Taxes are a big inducement for retirees, though states with no income tax can have higher property tax and sales tax.  Florida is of course greatly aided by nonresidents paying taxes.

One can find good golf courses and warmer weather in any southern state.  It is interesting how folks decide where to retire.
