breaking news!!!

Nebraska's 2026 recruiting class has taken off in June.

Four-star offensive tackle Claude Mpouma committed to the Huskers on Monday.

Mpouma chose the Big Red over Ohio State, Michigan, Auburn, and Florida. He visited the Tigers, Gators, and Huskers this month, with NU getting the last visit.

The 6-foot-7, 308-pound prospect from Mount Carmel High School in Chicago, Illinois, is ranked as the No. 14 offensive tackle in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite. He's the No. 5 prospect in Illinois and No. 169 in the class.

Mpouma is the second Husker commit Monday, joining fellow offensive lineman Leon Noil. Jr. in pledging their services to Matt Rhule in Lincoln. Nebraska is now up to 11 commits for the 2026 class, with seven coming in just the month of June.

The Huskers also have commitments from cornerback Danny Odem, wide receiver Nalin Scott, running back Jamal Rule, offensive lineman Hayden Ainsworth, offensive lineman Rex waterman, tight end Luke Sorensen, wide receiver Dveyoun Bonwell-Witte, linebacker Jase Reynolds, and quarterback Dayton Raiola.

...says from 2016-2023.

And THAT'S your mega-conference.
Have everyone play everyone (17-game season).
Then have a 16-team playoff, of course.
The season will be over in May.
You're welcome.

I’m not surprised by some of the teams but Wisconsin and Washington are head scratchers. I wonder how A&M fares against the non-blue bloods ?  We’ve had some all time bangers over that time frame.

Idk, I look at it as the UWs play multiple obvious 'in' teams every year and they own their own states.

Both UWs have flown close to the sun (going 11-1 or some such thing) in the last 25 years.  A&M's best offering in the 21st century was the covid year, right?  And Johnny Football was exciting, but he didn't actually win anything.

So while those things may not exactly be in the timeframe given, they influence the timeframe.  Oh, the B1G is in geographical divisions and very east-heavy?  Wisconsin maybe gets an annual bump in preseason rankings.
Oregon isn't going to be great in a given year?  I guess UW will rise up.  Hey, they made the playoff, so maybe they're good.

Just some maybes there.  But also, as great a program as A&M is, it's not Texas.  And for fans watching everywhere outside of Texas, that might be a thing.

I missed that part. Yes, Wisconsin gets eyeballs and had a lot of success until Covid. I'm just surprised to see them up so high.

I don’t follow either team that closely. I don’t really remember Wisconsin going 11-1 or whatever since 2016 but I don’t doubt they did. I don’t follow Washington at all, I vaguely remember them being decent a few years but getting their doors blown off in the playoff.

Auburn to my knowledge hasn’t done shit since 2016 and they certainly don’t own their state. Texas certainly didn’t own this state from 2016-2022.

it really doesn’t bother me, I’m not trying to claim A&M is a blue blood or something. I am genuinely curious to see where we slot on the viewership chart.
