Gun accidents are impossible without a gun.

I've lived in much worse places than any of you in the past 20 years, and have never remotely thought of owning a gun.
Bad guys aren't out there looking for people to attack.  
Attacks vastly occur among people who know each other.  
I'd argue all the rest are where a person pisses off someone with a ten-cent head.  

I'm all for the right to own a gun, but almost no one needs one.  With the odds, all of you taking a gun out with you every time to go to Target should be wearing a hard-hat at all times "just in case" of falling coconuts or meteorites.

You stated that almost none of the things that people have can kill people.  I pointed out that one thing that a huge amount of people have, not only can kill people, but kills more people than guns.

If something is silly, it's because you're making it so.
