1. Penn State: Beat Georgia State 56-0, up next at Iowa. Gets a little side eye after seeing Okie State demolish Pitt, but still look to be most complete team. Really interesting game with Iowa coming up, as last year Penn State whooped 'em and started having the look of a really good team.
2. Wisconsin: Went to BYU and won 40-6, now gets a bye. I'll bump them up a step for going on the road and looking pretty dominant.
3. Michigan: Beat Air Force 29-13, up next at Purdue. Now 7 straight games of pretty uninspiring offense. Defense may get first real test going on the road against a Purdue squad that wants to throw it around.
4. Ohio State: Beat Army 38-7., up next UNLV. Trying to sort out their offense, but not sure they will commit to what they need to do. They are a team that runs the ball. Runs, screens, RPOs are all in their wheelhouse. Having JT drop back and scan the field just isn't.
5. Michigan State: Had a bye, then welcomes in Notre Dame. ND is a bit of a cipher, but should see where MSU's defense really is this week.
6. Iowa: Beat North Texas 31-14, up next they welcome Penn State. Good ole Iowa being Iowa. After three weeks of competent football, they play a good team and we can see what they are.
7. Maryland: Had a bye, welcomes in UCF. Texas win suddenly not too shabby. Not sure we will learn much next week though.
8. Minnesota: Beat Middle Tennessee 34-3. Another solid week, but hard to say where they are until they get into B1G play.
9. Purdue: Beat Mizzou 35-3, next week welcome in Michigan. Looks like a competent team. Welcome back to football Purdue. Now try to block Michigan.
10. Indiana: Game cancelled against FIU, next up Georgia Southern. Not much to say as their game was cancelled. Probably not much to say about next week either.
11. Northwestern: Beat Bowling Green 49-7, now for a bye. Always a difficult team to rank, as I'm sure they will give everyone all they want. But still thinking about how they didn't give Duke all that much.
12. Nebraska: Lost to Northern Illinois 21-17, next up Rutgers. Blech. Rutgers game may show if Nebraska is truly a bottom feeder.
13. Rutgers: Beat Morgan State 65-0, now goes to Nebraska. Two teams that have already lost to MAC opponents square off.
14. Illinois: Lost to South Florida 47-23, now off a week to think about what they've done. Ersh. Not many signs of hope here.
