I certainly can’t blame them.  Probably a prudent decision.

As a “ selfish” fan, the desire to watch that game without two of the best players in the country is definitely lower.   I like CFB so much I will likely watch it anyway- especially knowing in just a few weeks many of us will go through CFB withdrawals.  Hate it when the season ends.

I do have my Orange Bowl tickets so looking forward to that tilt.   If I wasn’t so damn ugly I would post a pic of me wearing UM hat which I am sure my daughter will insist on, and provide. I will save you idiots the bother 😂😂

depending on how well he tests at the combine, could see him going 1st rd. RB position is so devalued though, he’ll probably wind up in the 2nd.

I wouldn’t mind the Lions taking him with their 2nd 1st round pick, but then again I kinda like KWIII and wouldn’t wish that on anyone.
The first draft guy I saw respond to this, said he didn't think there was a first round running back this year, but if there was, it was him

He might actually go 1st round, but it'll be late 1st. Seems like that's the only spot RB's are taken anymore if they are taken 1st round at all. Going top 5 like Zeke Elliot, Saquan Barkley, and Leonard Fournette is super rare these days.

I definitely think he'll be the 1st RB off the board and he's easily worth a late 1st. I could see him going to the Ravens at 25 if he's there. They love to run the ball.

It's sort of a luxury pick,  in the sense that if you have no offensive line, and no passing game, a good running back is useless. So taking one at the top of the draft is stupid, even if you still do value the position. Sticking a running back on a crappy team isn't going to help anything. I think DeAndre Swift is pretty good, but he's going to be in his fourth year before the Lions are anything but terrible, so it's going to be a waste, because he can't do anything on this team.

Bottom 1st, or on a good team that winds up with an early 2nd round pick via trade make the most sense.

I could see the Bills taking him.   They've seen him play in the elements.

all true. which is why jacksonville taking Etienne 25 made no sense to me. They should've tried to trade up 4 picks and take DE Kwity Paye with the 21st pick. getting a rb on a crap team there made no sense.

they could've had the two most important positions on the team solved- QB and DE. I'd say LT and CB are the next most important. give me QB and DE first.

Ravens love Dobbin and have serious OL issues and run stopping issues. They'll prob go OL, its one of the oldest and worst units in ShieldBall. You can't just let a bad OL just fester and cause your team to rot like Seattle did.

IMO, assuming no lisfrank injury Etienne would have been a valuable player for the Bills.

I said before taking a 1st round RB is fine if its your final piece. Today, not so sure. Fournette, Conner, Michel, Jones II et.al all available for probably less than 2y/8M. Why waste a 1st when you can get a proven vet for less than rookie contract money?

Also guys like Dillon (IMO could be a top 10 back) wasting on the bench and could be traded for a mid round pick.

THIS,where did the season go? I think Time takes a slumber then drags it's feet from the end of January to the beginning of September.Definitely a time warp ask any CFB Fan

Wow, gonna be a REALLY fun game to watch, now.

At what point are the bowls going to start taking action on this?  There's a fuck-all reason to watch MSU vs Pitt now.
When it affects the bowl games' checkbooks, they're going to start taking some sort of action, right?

I'm not sure what action they can take. Pay the players to participate? The whole business model for the bowl games is rooted in not paying the players.

They'd have to dip into their sport coat funds to pay for that

Yeah, I'm not sure there's anything they can do.  But lawyers can get pretty creative, lol.

Maybe, if they all did it together, the same year, the bowls' payouts would depend on the % of roster production is suiting up for the teams?  Like if 13% of your offense isn't even suiting up, then you're losing 6.5% of your bowl payout.

Well maybe. They could also do other things, what if you rewarded teams that win their bowl game, like say, three extra scholarship spots? A major problem with bowl games is that there are literally no stakes. I think 99% of guys would prefer to play their bowl games - the financial risks are what keep them out, and there are no other positive stakes to make playing worth it. So create some.
