I think there might be 2-3 coaches that could have accomplished what he did.

Took a team team with a lousy defense and changed the coaches and scheme, and got the nation’s top defense.  Took a pass happy offense that lost 3 WRs and a first round QB  to the NFL, 4 offensive lineman, and inherited a QB with virtually no game experience, and created one of the top offenses in the country. Then, blew through a very tough schedule.
Not that they look that into it, but the job he did in bringing in the right guys to fix the defense alone was COTY material

How many coaches would go 10-2 with Minny's schedule? They had a big November upset at home, and lost to every other team with a pulse.

lol this is super revealing, guys

YEEESH.
Your insistent need to say "resume" and then not actually look at it?  How many teams have a better resume than OSU?  None.  A lot of coaches could have gone 9-3 or 10-2.  But not many could have adjusted an offense on the fly to accomodate a completely different skill set at quarterback, while also making the necessary changes to a lousy (by comparison) defense, in the staff, to take a solid but not elite team, that lost arguably the best QB in America, and one of the best two coaches of this generation, and actually make them better.

What does this mean?

OSU had a very tough schedule. Much tougher than Bama had. Not even close.
REE ZOOM.

Not resume.

In the past 15 years, the fewest losses MINN has had is 4.  They didn't have an easy schedule in any of the past 15 years?

Your hate for the SEC/Alabama/Saban is so strong, none of you considered what I put could be anything but dragging down the resume of OSU.  No one sought clarification.  I'm actually not an SEC homer.  I know you'll scoff at that collectively, but it's true.

The last season Minnesota finished the season with 2 losses:  1967.  'Nuff said.

I wasn't hating on Bama or the SEC

I was comparing what Day and Fleck accomplished this season to Saban's season

that's a sign of respect

This is the first time they won 10 games. Ever. This is true.

Lost to their biggest rivals, in November, one of which was a beat down - at home.

Crossovers included _____ and Maryland. Squeaked by PSU at home.

Went to OT to beat Fresno. Beat South Dakota State by 7. Beat Georgia Southern by 3.

Easiest schedule, by far.

very much so. However, 3 of Ferentz's 4 COY's came with either a B1G or Division championship.

I'd guess if PJ wins another COY's it will include either a B1G or Division championship

Was Kirk's first w/o?

When Indiana looked pathetic in their win while Illinois and Minnesota were both losing last weekend it occurred to me that he just might have a chance.  First Ohio State coach to be named COTY since Earle Bruce in 1979.
