Well deserved for Day, but not for Barnum.

November Football is Big Boy Football, and Barnum proved to be a Pee Wee coach.
Well, when your Sep/Oct schedule is pee wee, it tends to increase your hype... Then if your Nov schedule is Big Boy Football, it crashes you back to reality.

Serious question:  how bad a HC would someone have to be to have lost a game in Day's shoes?

The Minnesota Golden Gophers went 10-2 this year.

Nick Saban was in his own shoes and lost 2 games

better recruiting than Day inherited

Urban lost inexplicable games to far inferior teams than OSU. Day did not do that. Never even came close to losing.

What does this mean?

OSU had a very tough schedule. Much tougher than Bama had. Not even close.

Penn State ranked several spots above Auburn in Massey Composite, Michigan ranked one spot below Auburn.  OSU went on the road and curb stomped Michigan, while Bama couldn't beat Auburn.  So the answer is not Saban.

Which begs the question, how many coaches would have gone worse than 10-2 with Bamas roster and a schedule of 10 cupcakes?

Going undefeated against a schedule that included 3 top 15 opponents, and never even being challenged, let alone beat, is a hell of a thing.  Does any other team has three wins that impressive?  Let alone doing it while not tripping up.

Damn, man.  I post about Day/OSU/Meyer's leftovers and you guys have to insert Saban and Bama and the SEC.

When will you get over it?!?!?!?!

How many coaches would go 10-2 with Minny's schedule? They had a big November upset at home, and lost to every other team with a pulse.

I think there might be 2-3 coaches that could have accomplished what he did.

Took a team team with a lousy defense and changed the coaches and scheme, and got the nation’s top defense.  Took a pass happy offense that lost 3 WRs and a first round QB  to the NFL, 4 offensive lineman, and inherited a QB with virtually no game experience, and created one of the top offenses in the country. Then, blew through a very tough schedule.

come to think of it, I am not sure anyone else could have done that.

Saying it nicely - I am not sure you are paying attention or maybe you don’t understand CFB.
Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.
