My son's intrasquad scrimmage for the golf team was cancelled due to course conditions--the rain is heavy enough there's standing water on the greens.

That means he can drive his siblings home from school and I can focus on work instead of taking over an hour out of my work day to get them.

I'm sure he doesn't even mind, because golf in this much rain is kinda miserable anyway.

My presentation at the conference went well this morning, and I'm glad to have that behind me.  Now I just have one more session to moderate/host (but not present) and then I get to go home early!

Home early is good.  I can tell this conference is really cutting into your posting time on the music threads in the B12 forum and that's a shame.

Got a call from my insurance man, saving $1,000 on my auto coverage this year!
I'm going there to sign the papers and then celebrating with some frosty schooners of Yuengling!

That's a lot of extra rounds of golf this year, potentially.

I drink the same amount of beer and play the same number of rounds of golf regardless

I have a budget for the most important things in life

not sure where the extra savings will go - maybe new rear tires for the red car

One Robin showed up a few weeks back and it must be off spring of an offspring from the succession of seasons of Robins that I took to feeding.Any way he arrived when there 8-9-10 inches of snow so no way of getting to ground forage and it was slim pickins on all the bushes, shrubs hedges and such. So i started chopping up raisins, prunes, apricots, cherries and other assorted dried fruits. They have a distinct cluck and I hear but can't quite see him until he emerges from trees/underbrush behind the house. So he knows where to grab some snacks during the ugly weather. Another 6 weeks I'm sure his extended family will be back. He's agrateful little bastard always clucks like "hey thanx" when i walk away 😎

My wife sent me a post from social media (I think it might have been a Ring camera "Neighbors" notification) about a sighting of a bobcat / mountain lion, in a neighborhood maybe 1/2 mile away, in the middle of the day.

Needless to say, with us being dog owners, she was freaked the F out.

She wanted to call animal control while I was sitting here on the phone with her talking her off the ledge. Eventually I said, you know what... Go ahead and call. I guess there's no harm.

So she did.

Turns out it was just a really big house cat. :57:

I thought that was very funny...

She better stop yelling fire or they'll send Kristine Larson, unless of course the bobcat doesn't look like her
