finally made it to Ole's Big Game Steakhouse & Lounge, 123 N Oak St, Paxton, NE - 30 miles west of North Platte on I-80

cool place - didn't stay for a steak, just a couple beers and a look around

Like that place be my go to watering hole if it was in the vicinity. That tin Heileman's "OLD STYLE" sign above the entrance door and the Seagram's Lamp fit the bill

yup, the locals tell me there's better steaks/food across the street but the old timer bar is the place to drink!

Lost power for a couple hours this morning.  Luckily, the trusty generator kicked in and we hardly ever knew the difference.

Apparently our property management company needed to spend some money so the owners would have a writeoff, so they finally replaced/upgraded some flooring in the kitchen, bathrooms, and hallways. It's not the most expensive stuff [as you'd imagine], but it's SO much better than the old cheap vinyl crap that it replaced...

As a result, my wife and I decided to reconfigure the kitchen since we had to take everything apart to get stuff out, and I think we've found a much more roomy, usable, better-looking configuration than what we had.

Only downside is that one of the things we chose to do was to move the kegerator to the garage lol... But I'm not going to let that little grumpiness ruin it.

Also, my company hosted a big innovation day event in NYC this week (and actually rang the Nasdaq bell yesterday morning). We announced several upcoming performance innovations that have garnered a fair bit of news... And I can say that I was involved in a lot of the behind the scenes work, including a bunch of work on the videos used for the event (that will also make their way to our web site). And a bit of it in front of the scenes too; today a couple of my pieces were posted on the corporate blog.

It's gratifying to see things I produced or assisted in the production actually being part of such a high-profile event.

It was also just announced on LinkedIn that I'll be one of the speakers at a customer webinar later this month, discussing storage system performance and economics in this period of insane market pricing.

I'm not going to link anything in this post, but if people have any interest in this stuff, PM me and I'll send some links of the work (and/or the webinar / YouTube posting of the webinar after the fact).

The only grumpy thing is that I am quite sure I had the option to travel to NYC for this. I didn't push for it b/c I don't love those kinds of events. But if I had, I'd have been on TV with the big crowd when they rang the Nasdaq bell... Granted all you would have seen is my head towering over everyone in the back lol...

Do share, not the amount of course just the names. Trying to pick up the pieces of my shattered dream. So I put a good chunk on tails for the SB coin flip
